Can Type F be mixed with dexron or can you only use it on a rebuild. Will type F really improve shifts and will it wear anything out in the long run like some people say?
Who in here uses Type F ? anyone

Huh I did a full flushing, yanked out all the dexron and replaced with type F and flushed out the cooler lines then started the engine and let the cooler lines fill up a 4 quart jug to make sure I got as much out a possible. Well sad to say but I will be swaping back to dexron tomarrow. There are some things I noticed, first it did improve the 1-2 shift but only once the trans got warm and type F is more consistant through temp changes from cold to very hot thats what I noticed thats the good part now heres the bad part, it made my 2-3 kinda soft but only under full throttle at part throttle it feels the same but at WOT it seems not as firm (that sucks) and it even feels kinda grabby almost like if it was having wheel hop but its inside the trans. Also if I floor it at 45 droping into 2nd it grips right off but seems to not pull as strong (kinda wierd). And last is I dont know how it effects the torq converter but from a dead stop my hole shot seems to not be as strong kinda like a lower stall feeling. I'm sure the type F is better for making the clutches grab and I'm sure it works great in some trans but it just does not do good in mine. I think it has its place just not in my trans. That sucks BAD!!! Just thought I would post this just incase someone searches one day!!!

No I have not tried the tractor fluid out yet but I'm going to call around tomarrow to see if I can find anyone that carries this. About how much does it cost to fill a tranny with 424

One question when under WOT does it take more fluid to go from 2-3 then it does 1-2. If there a higher demand for fluid pull from the pan going into 3rd, I know all that 2nd just only needs it to fill the servo but I am assuming that 3rd needs more fluid and maybe type F is thicker causing less fluid to get to 3rd in the same amount of time, could have caused my 2-3 softness with type F ??? who knows. I wish I knew everything:D

I assume 3rd needs a little more volume to fill the servo to overcome 2nd and fill direct piston, weather that is enough to make the differance you speak of or not I don't know, but it is a theroy!?
