Dont get excited to fast...Im sure there will probably be a rematch next the way Forrest sounded. The crowd thought Rampage won the fight and so did the Sherdog Judges. I thought you had to basically dominate the fight/champ to take the belt?? That clearly didnt happen and Forrest was hanging by a thread after that monster upper cut dropped him in the 1st. Rampage didnt have a scuff on him and Forrest was busted to pieces at the end. Personally I didnt care who won, just wanted to see a good a fight and Id say it was def worth buying.:D

Sherdog play-by-play and judging.
UFC 86 'Jackson vs. Griffin' Play-by-Play

I agree that Forrest was great, I don't think he beat the champ by the judges margin.... Rampage was not aggresvie enough... Chuck will knock Forrest OUT!!!!!

I think they should fight again first though!

.... Rampage was not aggresvie enough
This is why Forrest won the match. The only time Jackson had any advantage was when he popped Forrest in the 1st. Griffin won the fight in the second when he dominated Jackson on the mat ...and continued to push the pace through the rest of the fight. Jackson was hurt..he could barely walk out of the ring. I feel that Griffin should have tried to shoot a few times and get it to the mat. Jacksons ground game is mediocre at best.

The longer the fight

The more it would play into Forrests hands. Forrest is a GAME well schooled and "conditioned" fighter who keeps pressing the fight yes he would have to weather the storm early and if not knocked out by the Bullyson(Rampage) type fighter early, the hard chargin Rampage would tire and not have enough to finish the gamedog(Forrest). Infact so many times seen a well conditioned gamedog(Lightner,Clouse bred) with ability to come up off the bottom after an hour or longer, they would weather the storm so to speak and win over a hardmouthed /hardhitting/hardchargin' Bullyson, Chinaman type bred dog. Forrest gameness reminds me of a Fighter/Boxer back in the late 60's early 70's named Indian Red Lopez he would get knocked down 2 or 3x's but would come back by the late rounds the 14th , 15th round to knock his opponent out. Conditioned to go the long haul too.

To be quite honest. I thought the fight was boring I guess I am comparing it to the last card. I would have declared that fight a draw. Because if you dethrown the champ, you should dominate that fight with no question in anyones mind of who won. I actually got up after the first round and turned off the tv and went crusing. It was just too nice of a night last night to be couped up indoors.

Beating the champ

Well it used to be in Boxing you really had to take it to the Champ to win. This fight with Rampage you have to look at it different Rampage was supposed to anihilate Forrest he didn't stop him KO or submission. Infact the Majority of people thought it would be done in the 1st round Forrest had no chance. Rampages trainer the dude with the derby and goatee said he would retire if Rampage didn't knock him out that it was a joke. Forrest was not supposed to survive much less win. Yeah some of these fight that we have expectations between 2 great fighters they end up neutralizing each other it goes the long haul one is so tired from punching himself out early the other from being pounded on and weathering the storm it gets boring and drags on . Forrest deserves the win he went five rounds with Rampage the unstoppable the knock out artist the fact he survived 5 rounds gives him the win. Forrest was supposedly a walk-thru.

Was pulling for Rampage but had my doubts as well. After he took several inside and outside kicks and he started to limp on it a lil. After the second round you could see his it in his face that his spirit was broke and he just was not as aggresive as I expected.
Rampage has good stand up but his ground game is not so good.
Forrest kept chopping at the tree and used his reach.
As far as the bleeding he always stars bleeding ther due to scar tissue on that eye.
The either 2nd or 3rd fight of the night where the guy was bleeding so bad was a great fight, the bleeder would not quit.

Rampage's comments after were awesome. Can't wait for the rematch.

I think syle-wise Forrest is a bad fight for Rampage. If I had to bet I still would've put money on Rampage but I knew Forrest had a chance.

Can't wait for a Forrest-Liddel fight. I predict Forrest will out point Chuck until Chuck knocks him out. Don't really care for Chuck's girlfriend Erin much...
