Up Pipe Question

I am thinking about having an up pipe fabricated. Do I have to have that spring thing with the mesh or can it be just plain pipe?

You are really better off adding the flex tubing, reason being is the design and how it's attached, without it you have issues when the pipe heats and contracts. We actually added one after having an aftermarket one put on my hot air, kept it from causing leaks.

Just what I have learned from experience.

If I were to build a 2 1/2" uppipe would it really be noticeable--being the outlet from Poston headers is smaller (2" ?) and the inlet to the turbo is smaller...just wondering
