Gbodyparts has a new piece to replace that rotted piece in my picture. When the piece came, off to the body shop it went. When I said I had the piece in the back seat they gave me a confused look and asked how I had the top half of a car in my back seat. I said no, it's just the piece that is needed. They were very impressed with the piece and said "O wow, this thing is going to make life easy". Anyway...on with the pics...

That's quite a repair. Thankfully Brian had the piece available so the body shop didn't have to fab one. They did a really nice job with the install.

The cost from the body shop was $920 including a new windshield. I am so glad I paid the extra $80 for new glass. Now it's like looking through a piece of glass ;). If you guys have any questions for me or the body guy let me know and I'll get some answers. I asked if he had any problems, and he said no, that it went very smoothly. The windshield guy said he had to drill a couple holes for the windshield clips. As I have never installed a windshield I really don't know what he was talking about, but it must have not been to difficult to work with since my bill didn't go up at all.

I couldn't even get a shop to work on it without that piece. No one wanted any part of it unless I had a donor piece. This piece from Brian was a lifesaver. Before this piece came into play I was talking about chopping it off and going hardtop, to even buying a rustless n/a and converting everything over . This piece may have saved my life :D.

"Wow" is all I can say about that! Gonna see if Brian has something for the MCSS, my nephew has an '87 Aerocoupe with similiar issues (I gave his dad the car 11 years ago).

The part he got from Brian should be the same for the monte

Jason I'm glad we sent you that piece for test fiting. The shop turned it around quickly & did a nice job. We are giving the ok with a few minor mods that I saw your body man adapted ;)
GainesvilleGN That will fit all Gbody roofs. Look for this to be available the end of January.
Jason get us some pics when you have the stainless steel parts installed. Then the seals. You guys did a great job. Keep us updated on the progress I'll put a link from this post on our site to help others who need the T-top roof front header panel.

every g body roof i have had apart has had rot probably 20-30 cars but yours was by far the worst i have seen. looks like it came out nice!

I thought I would add the installer is:

TRS Corp

7001 Santa Fe Drive
Hodgkins, IL 60525

They are more of a truck repair place, but they do cars too. I have a buddy who works there and he assured me I would be happy with the work. He was correct.

Hey Brian, what is your well trained eye spotting? I asked my guy again if everything fit right and he responded "I talked to the body man that did the work on your car and he said he didn’t have to do any modifications at all it fit right in all he had to do was drill the holes where it was welded in at."
