Anyone know where to get a new upper radiator hose for a H/A??? I've been on every website I can think of, been to every local parts store...(those clowns don't know s!#t:mad: )... every one they bring me has one or two renegade bends in it that either kink it, or pull it up off of the coil pack cradle! ARRGH!!! I wouldn't think it would be too hard to find one that fits...any ideas???

Stock Radiator??

Is is stock or the bigger G body Radiator?? I have no problem getting the hoses for my car till I upgraded the radiator, Then I just told them I had a 78 Lesabre with a buick 350 in it and the upper hose worked out fine:rolleyes: Don't know if that helps you or not, oh yeah if you are going to Auto Zone I see what your problem is:p

Heres the problem. For what ever reason GM redisigned the hose and it does not work. You can go to GM and ask for a hose for it and what they give you will kind of work, but it does kink. Every auto parts store carries this same hose bent like the GM one is. Funny thing is I upgraded my radiator to the F body radiator and the stock GM replacement hose now fits fine with no kinks in it. Best thing if you want a hose that runs like the original is to take your original down to a parts store that will let you in the back where the hoses are. Find two with 90 degree bends in them that have straight lengths coming off either end. Join the two pieces with a coupler in the part right in front of the coil pack. If you paint the clamps black and point the screw portion down it doesnt stick out to much.

I know this sounds real stupid and I don't want to piss you off, but you do know that the hoses always seem to come longer then they should right??? I had that happen with my Bronco, I got all pissed off cuase the hose was kinking up and ready to go down to the store and rip that guy an new one and my brother looked at me and said "you know if you trim a little off the ends it will fit better and not kink up" I told him to shut up:cool: Just a thought, I work on stuff all the time and sometimes look right past the most ovbious:eek:

I think when I tried trimming the GM one and I think it still ended up kinking. I cant remember though since its been a while.

You know

After giving it alittle thought, you would think one from a late 90's Camaro or TA with a tuned port motor would work real good seeing that the thermostat housing comes out in right about the same spot. I could be wrong so don't quote me on that. Just a thought:smile:

i got mine at Carquest- and it fit perfect with a little trimming.
then, a month later when i put the bigger 307 Cutlass radiator in it, i got a hose for an 87GN and it fit perfect after trimming an inch or two off it.

NAPA 7899. Fits the stock radiator as well as the F-body radiator. Fits in the cradle. Good luck. Brad

Thanks guys. Alot of great info here...this forum is priceless when you are doing a restoration!!! I got the Carquest one and it fits...kinda. Had to trim it a little, and it still looks a little funny. I have the short stock radiator. I will stop at NAPA today and check out the one you listed, Brad. Thanks. ---Keith
