Have a guy I am helping that should be running TSM this year and we have a transmission question.
The rules says “ no aftermarket automated shift actuation”
When using a automatic 4L80 with TCI Trans Controller the transmission is essence is an automated
Shift actuation.
Do the rules makers find this a problem?
He was going to put an M&M shifter in the car that is air actuated which by the rules is a no go which
Is essence is actually no different at that point.

What’s the group think?

The rule was/ is stupid to begin with. It was put in place years ago singling out one racer, which is wrong too. Back when it was put to the vote I asked what about a 200 as it can shift on its own and people run them in the class. How can you allow a trans to shift on its own and rule out air or electric shifters? Crazy.
That rule needs to go.

Pretty much why I asked. Really didn’t make sense.
