I need some input on the V4 intercooler versus Cottons stock location intercooler. Bottom line, is the Cotton intercooler as good as a V4 or not? How do the two compare in terms of fit, finish, etc.?

I'm ready to order an IC and I'm considering the Cotton IC because of the long wait associated with the CAS intercoolers. Not to mention I'm a cheap SOB and the Cotton IC is $30 less. :)

I think you answered your own question...go with Jack.

He can ship quickly, great to talk with, & he genuinely cares about his customers.

HTH :)

I replaced a V-4 with one of Cotton's modified stock location units. Better, easier install with the JC. As far as track performance, no difference was found. This is on a consistant low 11 sec. car with lots of track time.

Thanks Nick,

That's exactly what I was looking for, a real world head to head comparison between the two ICs. I'll be ordering the Cotton IC then.

If Jack sells it, you can guarantee its good stuff. He wont sell anything he wouldnt use on his own car. I have one on one of my cars and it fits great! :)

Does Jack's intercooler come with an air duct and scoop? or do you have to use your stock one.

it comes with the shroud, i beleive its sheet metal painted black.

Jack's stretch is a 15-row 1 1/2 that uses original cores. To quote Jack: "We use these cores cause they just plain work" ..or something like that. :)

But for $30 more you get a BRAND new IC.

Yep, that is one reason I'm going with the CAS instead. I didn't know the cores on the Cotton IC weren't new. Plus there is the core charge issue I posted about in another thread.

Call ATR and ask if they got the stretched stock IC in stock. Its a V4. Go with the V4 you won't be dissapointed.

Yeah, and that stupid V4 didn't go into my car any easier. :p Works well, but I gotta drain the coolant and pull it all apart again this winter to get the PS bracket modified.

Still worth it as the car spools right now from just about any speed. Just not a drop in install in my experience.

Go with Jacks IC!!!!! He is the most honest guy in the business. He has guys that drive to his place to have him work on there car from Alaskan (Jacks place is in Mass).

IF HE SAYS THAT ANY THING WORKS, THEN IT WILL!!!!! He does not sell crap. HE IS THE MAN!!!!!:) :) :) :) :)
