SignUp Now!Well I just wasn't sure Mike would take on the responsabillity of the other vendors purchases or not! If he will then Yes I knew to send it to him already. That question was towards Jack @ Racetronix.Probably the above confirmed address.
Here it is also.

So what your saying is that the pump I have right here out of my car that CLEARLY has YOUR ENGRAVING "RX 07/04" is not yours??I took the time to review our purchase history for the F200000169 pumps. A total of sixteen F200000169 pumps were brought in by Racetronix. The last time we bought any of these was in was Jan 2005!!! There are still 5 sealed F200000169 pumps sitting on the shelf here meaning that a total of 11 are out in the field. None of these pumps would qualify under this program because the problem has been isolated to production within the past year or so.
Please contact us directly with any Racetronix specific questions.
Thanks

Are you Implying that i'm liying?
Mike CLEARLY said that this recall WAS NOT isolated within this past year!! How do you now have proof that it has? or do you just don't want to warrant your products? or your customers?
Would you like me to send you the pump or what?
Maybe one of the other vendors will help..

From my recolection it was purchased in 05'. And you should get more than 3yrs out of a pump running a hot wire kit!! Thats for damn sure! There are GOOD pumps with hot wire kits out there going on 10yrs +I have never purchased a Racetronix pump, but it appears that their signature is on it. I guess Jack will need to answer what the 07/04 means. That may be a date code of when it came in or was sold. If it is when it was sold, it would be 4 1/2 years old. If it lasted that long, that would be a good life cycle, that would exceed my expectations - but who am I, LOL...![]()
Now, on the other hand. If you had it laying in your trunk for 3 years and installed it a little over a year ago, I would be upset also. I guess we will need to see how everything will be handled out from here.
Best of luck with your scenario...
Mike

It's deffinetly a Racetronix pump for sure, it clearly has ther markings on it. It's actually a good thing he marks them..
NOTE: This recall on the Walbro F20000169 pumps is a recall on walbro's behalf NOT the vendors! So it's up to walbro to say if my pump is covered in the recall or not. The vendors that sold the pumps are pretty much just a middle man on this issue and thats it. The vendors are supposed to work out the shipping situation between the customer and walbro will replace them with the new pump! Why Jack wants to steer me away from him I don't know but he is also steering away future buiness as I just purchased a GSS340 for a customer!! so I guess I will have to contact someone who will help.

I recently was selling your GSS340 pumps and recomending them to customers but I think from now on I will find someone else to do my buisness with..
Mike CLEARLY said that this recall WAS NOT isolated within this past year!! How do you now have proof that it has? WALBRO is taking care of these defective F2000169 pumps, Not costing you anything! Maybe one of the other vendors will help seeing you won't..
A defective Walbro F2000169 pump is a defective pump and if it falls under the recall pumps it should be taken care of! Pretty cut and dry if you ask me..
Scot W.
Mike (beamer) it's not so much being upset at a vendor because it has nothing to do with him anyway. It has to do with WALBRO and they are recalling BAD F2000169 pumps and replacing them and thats what I have and thats what i'm sure will happen. just don't look like Jack will be helping..I hear ya, my brotha from anotha motha...
I guess this is one of those get upset at the vendor situations. Not taking sides here... I saw that Jack asked for some info from Mike on this silent recall. I might think that Mike has not had the opportunity to let Jack in on the details of this pump replacement program. Hopefully Mike or Jack can chime in, or even better get details exchanged to better handle this little needed detail. It sort of looks like you have a lot of details on the exchanging of the pumps. Do you have any contact info for Jack to get info?
Just a few thoughts...

I agree 100%..I had an 87 Toyota Camry with 140K plus miles on the clock that I gave away a couple of years ago and the car is still running today with the original fuel pump. That is the kind of life I would like to see for a fuel pump!!! I know that it is not a high performance application but if a Walbro can last at least half as long it would be great!!!
First of all Jack I NEVER said nor did I mention that I distrust Walbro!! OKAY!I stated that this pump does not qualify under this program period. I don't see anywhere were I said we did not sell it. I don't set the rules and Walbro holds all the cards here. Expecting warranty on a pump that is 4 years old is a unrealistic. The bottom line is that your pump is NOT effected by this flaw. Mike has stated that the pumps effected date back approximately 1 year. The word 'approximately' does not push it back 4 years plus. This one year time frame is based on a period when Walbro was using some questionable parts from an isolated supplier.
If Mike is willing to slip this pump in under the radar for you perhaps you may luck out and end up with a replacement assuming they don't check the date codes. That would be at his peril. Since we do not have a purchase history of these pumps within the time period effected we can not offer a replacement under this program. if you don't like this policy I would be more than happy to provide you with contact info for the people at Walbro and the distributor.
I appreciate the fact that you may have referred business to Racetronix but that will never buy anybody enough brownie points for me to got back to my supplier and submit a fraudulent claim. Our products stand on their own merit and the Buick community is well aware of the quality and value we offer. Trying to blackmail Racetronix in this thread because things may not be too your liking is not going change anything. If you distrust Walbro product that much then why bother pursuing a replacement? You will always be second guessing what is in your tank and attribute any future failures to Walbro quality regardless if it is a new F200000169 or GSS340M.
I thank Mike for bringing a certain degree of clarity to this unfortunate situation.
This is Mike's thread and we should not be hijacking it.

And there is KNOWONE trying to blackmail ANYONE here so please refrain from putting words in peoples mouths!
Just alittle tid bit on the information on what I have already been doing. Iv'e called WALBRO and also contacted Jeff @ VE peterson & Holley the only two supplyers that walbro only sells to. all other vendors have to buy from either VE Peterson or Holley or vendors further down the cahin. Jeff from VE Peterson also gave me some vendors numbers so iv'e also called and spoke to them and they are aware of this recall. and that Walbro hasn't a reall date of when the F2000169 pumps started to go bad, They have just a questimate. and it's not just only a year back...
I'm not asking anyone to slide ANYTHING under radar when there is no reall substantial date of when they started to go bad.
OH and BTW. The pump was purchased in 05'
Don't worry Jack I won't expect you to do anything........... I will do it myself and call these people back to verify if my pump falls under this recall. I will have them e-mail me..
IF NOT trust me I won't loose any sleep over it.. and will continue to run the Walbro pump that is in my tank right now!!![]()
Have a nice day!

Well rick Walbro makes the pumps for Holley & VE Peterson. I should actually say TI automotive makes the pumps. But YES Holley gets them from WALBRO now if they also fall under this recall I have no Idea.I replaced my bad 169 pump with a Holly that a friend purchased from Summit about a year ago. So is this Holley pump also suspect?
Well when I said it was purchased in 05 it pretty much co-insides with this mans problems also.I stated that this pump does not qualify under this program period. Jack from ALL the threads on this issue it was NEVER posted anywhere stating they were only going to honor this recall going back one year!Scot,
I contacted VE earlier today in an attempt to gain information on how I could help my customers isolate questionable pumps even though most had not purchased their F20000169 pumps from us. In their reply they stated in no so many words that this should NOT be a Racetronix problem seeing as we have not purchased any of these pumps for many years. They are mostly correct in their statement.
We sold a total of eleven F200000169 pumps production dated 3-4 years before this problem came to light. If Walbro and their distributors are willing to honor replacements dating back to the introduction of the F200000169 pumps in 2004 then that is news to me.
I am sorry you feel that I am hanging you out to dry but I am being as transparent as possible here. From where I sit I feel the same way because Walbro has not been very forthcoming on this issue. I have had to press hard for every inch of information here.
If you are able to confirm that 'they' will consider your pump for replacement I would be more than willing to process it for you. From the information I have it would appear as if they will not???

Trust me when I say this, I literally read Every thread page by page and seen Nothing where this one year thing was mentioned.
If it's posted somewhere on here I would like to see it please..
