They can't make a plastic rear bumper filler cheaper than $300 friggin dollars ?

I can buy a whole goddamn set of 4 aftermarket fillers for under $300.

you are looking at prices for a part that goes on a car that's been out of production for 23 years. i think they generally stock stuff that is 7 years old- everything else is either warehouse or dealer stock that is taking up space.

you mean plastic bumper fillers that crack in 6 years aren't worth the same price as a precisely engineered journal bearing turbo?!?!?!?!?!?!?

be lucky they even carry them or any parts for our 22-27yr old bricks , GM not long ago had a 10yr policy , 10yrs after parts quit being used on the line they were discontinued and any leftovers auctioned off
if that were the case you'd be fighting with nos parts horders for the last run of them and paying big big bucks for the priviiledge of owning an NOS part
if they didnt have them what would you do if your car was in an accident and needed new fillers , without gm you'd be up a creek as the original run would already be long gone , and because they have them the ins company has to replace with OE since no suitable aftermarket has been produced that will pass for nos
those that want OE to preserve their "collector value" will pay for them , for the rest the fiberglass repops will have to do.

oh and did you check the shipping , 65 for one rear filler

if you want oe fronts ill sell ya a set shipped for whats listed above ,still in the box

care to guess what will happen to any unused gm part if GM does have to close its doors

I need both rears and left front replaced. (The RF is mint. go figure)

I just picked up a GM LF filler at Kirban's on Saturday for $110... So I just need to gather up the rears now. Might try the aftermarket ones at Full Throttle.

Thanks for offering though.

The Kirbans may be good for a driver/race car and can probably be made to fit pretty well.... just stay away from the ones sold at year one. I had a friend order them and boy did they fit like crap..

Short story.

About 3 yrs. ago I had to start production (coating) up on a OE
GM part at 2am 20 small pcs. they fit in 8x8 box. A 53 ft. semi should up at 4am. $2,000 I handed him the box to take to our local airport where a lear jet was waiting. The airport is next door to my coating facility....

Lord knows what it all cost.

I have more stories. But this was extreme.

The one I got from Kirban is a GM filler in a GM box.

My main concern is how the aftermarket/Full Throttle/Gbodyparts fillers will fit the rear.

Any feedback on the aftermarket rears ?

the abs look more like oe but are more brittle and are made from two peices joined with spit i think , need special prep like the oe , and when your done the paint will crack at the seam trying to get them to line up

go fiberglass from danko, takes a little prep drilling some holes and what not (where to drill holes are clearly visiblesince its molded off an oe part) ) they arent bad for the price ,paint is easy as clean prime and spray

I bought my fronts from GM Parts Direct and the rear from Kirban. All fit well.

X2
My abs didn't fit, but the fiberglass was very nice.

Have to agree with the others. The fact that they are available OEM at all is amazing for a car of this age.

Do you guys think that no company will make the parts for the regal just like they make every nut and bolt for the 60's cars?

It's hard to say. I'm no expert, but I'd have to say a company would have to be able to see a return on their investment to even consider it. The demand for parts for these cars is nowhere near what some of the 60's muscle cars are. It's a darn good thing we have so many good vendors to choose from around here.

+1. I have these and can confirm that they are a great part.

You're complaining about nothing to begin with. Those rear fillers are discontinued. And yes there are people who would pay twice that for them. http://www.turbobuick.com/forums/parts-wanted/277516-wanted-nos-rear-bumper-fillers.html

And you wonder why you can't get anything for a 23 year old car?
Maybe you should research how much it really costs to make a urethene body part now adays. It's the same arguement why the Pentagon pays $700 for a toilet seat. You just don't know the whole story if you don't work in that sector of manufacturing.

I have the fibergalss ones on the front and just pulled the drivers side off to see what I can do to get the sucker to stop squeaking so bad at idle and light bumps.
It sounded like crap.
