Is this worth a try for a daily driver?

Any reviews from members?

Only downside is the plumbing and potential leaks. All other is positive. Sell them with water cooled housings often

My ferd came from the factory with a water cooled center cartridge. 27 years and almost 100k miles later no issues.

BUT

I have replaced several of these units due to coking on other cars. The coolant gels over a period of time, usually after sitting for long periods. That then cooks decreasing the efficiency of that feature. Coolant flushes and maintenance are a must.

Been on my daily driver for about 60K miles and 6 years, now it sits while I drive another turbo car due to frame rot.

Turbo is still fine and an Innovative DBB. :)

Plumbing was straight forward using heater core/water valve, feed and return with T's and rubber heater hose and NPT to barb fittings at the turbo which was 3/8 NPT I believe.

I run anti-freeze and water most of the time, racing was water and RMI or water wetter etc. but that was only during the summer a few times.

Was driven all 4 seasons, -4 to +100 degrees.

I do have a turbo filter on there as well.

I think it's recommended for a daily driver. Helps when you"forget" to idle it for a few minutes after beating on it or long drives on the highway. At least that's what ive been told. I'm gonna be installing a comp turbo and that's what they recommended but also said its not necessary but it does help. I guess maybe even more beneficially if you're already not running an oil cooler.
