Can someone post pics of how to plumb a water cooled turbo? I've been searching but can't seem to get a real clear look.

TIA

First you need to post which water cooled turbo.

Garrett?

Turbonetics?

Other?

Can be done with hose, braided hose, AN fitted hose, barbs etc.

Lots of places to get water from and drained.

Here's my BB6776 coolant lines

Thanks for the quick repsonses!!:)

SalvageV6: I'm looking at a TE45a BB water cooled

Patrick: Thanks for the info - Will a 3200 stall be sufficient (street car-little to no racing) or should I go a little higher, I currently have a stock D5...

conn84gn & KWIKR1: Thanks for the pics. This is what I was looking for. I still run ful AC and heat and am trying to keep everyhting as stock appearing as possible.

Question: Coming off the heater hardline that I currently have looped to prevent heating the TB, I assume that can be used to pump water into the turbo and then utilizing what I saw in a pic off of Patricks post, I can run an outlet line fromt he bottom of the turbo down to my lower radiator hose-if I can find the proper couplings/fittings... Is this correct or am I
confused?

I would like to plumb this as "stealthily" as possible without haveing to make an extra holes where I don't have to (ie: in the manifold or block)
I am open to any and all suggestions. If you have other detailed pics please post.

Thanks again...

Mine is routed basically the same as conn84gn. You can buy a kit from fullthrottle/pte which makes it plug and play.

Thanks for the input-
I was reading that this kit seemed to be a little on the flimsy side. Also it's priced at $113 Plus it states that you need to runt he turbo saver (ie: relocation kit) $165.00

Seems like I can save myself $278 by being a little bit creative.

I'm am trying to keep this all within a budget (aren't we all:rolleyes: ) and would prefer to use what I have (stock parts) whenever possible.

I rarely even drive this car and don't know why I don't simply stop and leave well enough alone... Ah such is the mod bug and I am infected...Oh well, I'll keep looking for other alternatives.

ATP turbo has the correct thread fittings that adapt them to -6 AN. I believe they are 14mm thread and you will need two crush washers or o-ringed washers.

Then you simply get some pushlock fittings and hose from Jegs and use the two t-body ports on the hard heater core lines as feed and return sources. Which port you use to feed or return, doesn't matter. Just look at the pics posted on here and on that other post and you're good to go.

Thanks Patrick, this is the kind of info that I can really use. You wouldn't happen to have pics of the pushlock fittings and t-body ports. Again I apologize if these are stupid sounding requests but I've never had occassion to use any of these items and thus I do not know what I am really looking for(It's nice to have a visual aid-so that I am sure to buy the right items). Thanks again for all of the responses and assistance.

Here's how I did it with the heater hoses and drain hoses in that location.

More flow than the throttle body hoses and my fittings were 3/8" NPT on the turbo which made it easy to go to standard 5/8" and 3/4" hose barb fittings also shown below out of the turbo, right angle fittings and hose for the front turbo drain fitting. 5/8" is the stock feed line to the heater core and water selector control valve, and 3/4" is the drain out of the heater core to the hard pipe. Easy to T with off the shelf fittings either help section or NAPA has them in black Nylon which are good hose T fittings.

Go to atpturbo.com
14 mm Banjo fitting set for cooling lines 3/8" barb
$18.00 each
Rubber hoses & clamps
Maybe $50.00 total
Found it after I did mine the $$$ way:mad:

Little more involved but worth it.

Yes, one in the intake, one on the water pump. Water pump sucks it from the intake, through the turbo and back into the system.
