i have a couple questions first off im going to replace my water pump has a bit of corrosion around the hose hook ups and might b leaking so is there a good water pump outthere u guys use or r they just a standard all the same from an autoparts store? next can a water pump b powder coated without creating any damage to it? as well as the thermostat housing part ? id like to get these done but i dont know if its ok to do it without damaging these parts

any autoparts store should have them. There should have stock water pump and heavy duty.

As for powercoating the pump and housing, I dont see why not.

I am not too sure on the actual temps used in powder coating but if it is in the upper 300's or so, I might think about skipping that. The seal isn't designed to take that kind of heat without the coolant mix at least on one side of it. Dry heat like that may damage it and you get a leak prematurely. Also, if the powdercoating is going to come out to the price of a can of spray paint, then I would do it. :) If it is going to be the price of the pump, then why waste the coating on a part that will eventually have to be turned in for core.

T-stat housing should be ok. As long as there are no parts with "rubber" that may bake and become brittle or harden up like ceramic or distort and not seal.
