Can you put the wide band in the stock location? I have a SD2 chip that doesn't use the stock sensor. Will it survive there? Is it to hot there ?

Not really a good idea to hot and the readings change when the sensor is in pressure

Mine is 18 inches down from the turbo on the downpipe.

Check your manufacturer's installation sheet. Most will recommend 18" down on a Turbo application for accurate reading and longevity of the sensor.

Shoot! Good eyes. It's 18" on N/A and 36" on a Boosted application or high RPM for an extended amount of time.

The latest SD2 software to be released this spring WILL be able to use the narrowband O2 during normal cruise. So leave it in place! Put your Wideband as far away from the turbo on the downpipe as is practical.
Where it is shown in that picture in your post should be fine.

Most DP`s come with the WB bung already installed , I put both cars of mine where the DP already had the bung installed and seems to work fine like your pic .

I just wanted to add my experience with mine as I have been running my wideband in stock location for quite a while with out any problems and I use leaded fuel more often than not....ran it both ways and have noticed no difference is readouts etc....plenty of factory wideband cars run them in primary spots....i always power up the sensor and let it go through its "warm up cycle" first.....just my two pennies

Consider yourself lucky on yours.

But as far as factory widebands go, on N/A cars it shouldn't make any difference where they go. I do know that on my twin turbo Ecoboost motor, the widebands are post turbo.
