I have a all orgl. 87 Regal, with 73,k that I have had for many years and was getting ready to sell it to a guy for $4000. and just for fun, I started to research the car and this is what I found....Trunk Fact. codes.
It is a 3.8 turbo "SE2" with T' package "Y56" The car is black with Black-out package "WO2" and Chrome bumbers.
Now this is where I am starting to wonder....
The codes do not show the "WE4" Option package, However it has all the "Parts" of the WE4.
"VD6 and 7" Aluminum bumpers
"J42" Aluminum drums
"N89"Aluminum Turbo wheels
"LC2" 3.8 turbo
MOX Trans
"Y56" T' Package
"WO2"
"C60" A/C
"D35" Mirrors
"AR9 & D55" seats and console (Burg.)
"RED T" badges and horn button
Front Spoiler Plus it has the FE3 Sport suspension and a few more Extras "Art Carr" trans cover and a "GN" looking rear cover ect.

Do I have something here. Or wishful thinking...?

Look opn the sticker in your trunk.
WE2 = Grand National.

Claude.

He's not asking if it's a GN...

Chrome bumpers would make it NOT a WE4. Sounds like a T with blackout package. And not all WE4's got the aluminum drums, just the peg leg ones. I'm guessing it has a emblem up front too on the header panel? WE4's have no emblem like a GN.

Did any regals come with all the Alm. stuff without being a WE4 ??
Yes.
Can we get a pic of the sticker in the drivers door. It has a production month n date. Yours would be an early, possibly 86 production , as this was discontinued with the intro of we4.

I am looking to see how "late" Buick built black chrome bumper tr cars. I also would like to see some build dates on some black non w02 cars to see if they let those go all 87 run or cut them off as well.

Thanks for the pix.

10/86 would make it an early model year 87 Turbo T. This would explain the lack of hood ornament (only limiteds had em in 87) and the T badges, etc. I've seen plenty of black 87 Turbo T's with chrome bumpers.

The hood ornament was on all y56 with lc2 cars(except we2 and we4 cars). If it didn't get an ornament factory screwed up or someone pulled it. I'll let the turbo t slide this time.

Ross what are you confused about. You do not have a we4. Your car is cool as it is an early production black with the chrome bumpers. What else do you have questions about?

Did any regal's come out with the Aluminum stuff without being a WE4 that we know of ?

I guess I just dont want to sell off something rare for 4k if it is worth 10...

Yes, many tr came with the aluminum supports and if non-g80 it got the aluminum drums.

Only worth what you and the buyer agree upon. Though the black with w02 black out trim was only available until the we4 was rolled out. I'm not sure on the non-w02 cars, kind of why I ask every one I see about a pic of the driver door sticker to see about build date.

Sounds like my car. A WE4 wannabe. Early 87. Black with black trim and grey interior. Chrome bumpers. Hood ornament.

Car must've looked silly with all that black trim and chrome bumpers. Mine has had the bumpers painted black and the hood ornament filled in so it looks like a WE4, but it aint.

I think GM thought it looked silly too, and that's why the WE4 was born

Anyways, rumor has it very few were made this way. 200 or so.
