Would you consider a 15 yr old car is overly abused or raced if it has:

- 15,006 miles
- 3 total mods
- Been to the track 2x
- Been in 8-10 street races in 4 years (lost two). Lets see, that averages 2 street races per year.

???

Its been "raced" if you've been to the track...

You could have a 1k mile car and that could mean 4,000 quarter mile passes!

Mileage really dosen't mean squat, its all about how u drive it, and the condition. I've seen many low milage cars look like high mileage and the reverse..

"abused" is a matter of opinion.

These cars are made to take the abuse, If your not going to "abuse" these cars, then don't by them, watch them sit still in your heated garage.

"overly raced and abused" is also opinion of every person. Some people don't want a car that was raced at all.

In my opinion, I don't think your car is "overly" abused or raced... As long as your drive train has no problems, u must of not abused it that much.

Abuse? nah just an owner who chooses not to excercise the right to operate his vehicle of choice at any given time. To some that could be construed as improper use and that in itself could be defined as "Abuse":D However, I think most define "Abuse" as damaging, injuring or attacking. So as long as one does not neglect, damage, attack/punish nor use the vehicle improperly, I think the word "Abuse" does not apply to your question.
HOWEVER, street racing can be considered "Improper" and potentially "Damaging" "Reckless" and/or "Neglectful" so the word "abuse" could apply if used in that context.

I only consider a car abused if it is in poor repair.. meaning if you have a car you take to the track every week and race it but.. when the trans starts slipping you replace it ! you wash the rubber off the quarters, you change the oil before 3,000 miles and so on I would NOT consider it abused.

If you have a car that is a weekend driver garage queen but has 4,500 miles on that last oil change and has been needing the 2 missing body mount replaced for 3 years ...abused.

I see where you guys are coming from so let me clarify:

1st time at track 8 passes, 2nd 5 passes all test'n tune.

When I bought the car 3.5 years ago it still had the original tires with 7,500 miles & no "race" history. I've changed the oil 2x in 7,000 miles and the car has no body or mechanical issues other than needing a TCC solenoid (go figure). It gets driven to car shows/events and an occasional Sunday drive with the wife.

Abuse is a lack of proper maintainance, mis use is going off road with your GN with only 15,000 miles on it. So I would vote for it being a GN that has had the type of use it was designed to take. So, if it has been well cared for and kept up, then you are ok with it. Mark :D

I consider abused when the car has been flogged everytime it's used-track or street and then not maintainenced. A car that's driven hard will last quite a while if it's properly maintained and repaired.
