I have been thinking of making a mini ebay in the marketplace forum. What do you guys think of this idea?
Please present Pros and Cons in a constructive light.
I am interested to see what you guys think. TB.com could run it, or even the individual themselves could.
What do you all think?

Keep it Simple...

Personally, I've brought a lot of stuff here simply because I don't have time for auctions. I like the fact that I can offer what I think is fair and if the seller thinks it's fair then we are done.

No artificially raised prices, no waiting for days at a time, and no wasting MY time paying attention to auctions, time that I really can't afford to spare anyway (I spend way too much time in my life behind a keyboard I don't want to add any more!).

Buying at auctions becomes a job unto itself -which is why I shop here intead of "there". Put me down for liking the current way of doing things... post-->read-->offer-->accept-->ship-->receive.

Thanks

I really don't think its a good idea. I don't like Ebay, as you end up with people out there "fishing" for an obnoxious price they want for something but won't tell anybody what price they have in mind.

I like the "here's what I want to sell, here's the price, and the first person to promise me that money or give me an offer that I choose to accept gets the item" concept. No frills, no BS, just a straight forward deal.

Just could end up causing more problems than its worth... a lot of people probably just wouldn't take the bidding very seriously.

I only buy items on Ebay that I can't find on the forums. The auction usually just turns out to be wait until the last second and throw in an offer. I just find it a hassle.

Just my .02...

Have to say that I agree with the other responses on this one. I would say that the people I have dealt with on this forum have been very fair and no problems getting the product(s). It has been refreshing knowing that when you have corresponded with someone on this site that you are going to get your part without the risk of someone sniping at the last second.

No way. leave the auction crap for Ebay! These guys here are awesome to deal with and we all are happy at the end of a deal. :)

I think it would be a fandillitasitic idea.

And for the others who don't think it would be great.....all they have to do to satisfy their desire not to participate is NOT to participate.

Set'er up Brucie .... if you don't I'll be forced to show the pic of your truck with Len's sticker on your back window. :)

No way leave it alone...

People that want to try and play the market can just do it on Ebay, some do, good for them. Please dont mess with the format...it works just fine.

That would be a "NO" from here. Look at all of the parts that are listed and sold on this forum. That should speak for itself that people do not want to play the waiting game with an auction along with the price increasing games that happen on Ebay. Please leave well enough alone.

Well it was just an idea.

Obviously, most are not for it. I will leave up for some more replies but it looks like the "nays" win. Keep them coming.

Thanks for taking the time to respond. This is how we find out what the members would like, or maybe would not like.....:D

Thanks again, TB.com admin

yes look how popular ebay is and this would be for just members.this could help keep things cheap and avalible to just buick parts. ;) ;) ;) ;)

if this does happen then make a set price for parts. or make a average price...

I'm not fond of the auction idea on the board. As stated above, this is a relaxed place with little to no hassle. The transactions are easy and there are some great deals to be had for those that are 1. always on the board (like me  or 2. people who are quick to send money...

Ebay is where I go when I can't find the item I want here. And then I have to bid against someone who probably doesn't even know what they're buying and this usually results in an artificially high price.

Keep the Status Quo. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
