I have two of these mufflers sitting in my garage....

Summit SUM-630802 - Summit Glasspack Mufflers - summitracing.com

And I've considered running them on my car in place of the 40 series Flowmasters that are on there now.

Two things I am wondering....

1. Will the turbo spool up faster?

2. How quickly will these burn out, if at all?

3. Will there be any drone? (as of now my Flowmasters "drone", or resonate at around 2100 rpms)

4. Are these more free flowing than Flowmasters?

My current exhaist consists of stock headers, stock down pipe, no cat, 2.25 inch pipes from where the cat was out behind the rear wheels, with of course those darn Flowmasters.

(Flowmaster....an oxymoron)

Glass packs

I got two JYD aluminum specials on mine and they sound good. It's probably 2.25 exhaust pipe on mine. It does drone a little cruising down the road but it's not bad at all. Anything that you can see through has to be less restrictive. If you got two of them babies, stick'em on there and see what happens.

If they are the reverse finned ones they flow worst than flowcraps...

The ones I have, do have the raised louvers but the hole openings are pointed towards the exit. These actually do have a sticker on them that determine which side is the inlet.

So they actually do go on one way.

I could snap a pic if needed.

Don't need a pic, they still don't flow as well as flowcraps. And that isn't saying much. Save your money and get a good muffler that flows.

I had the those on my car and loved them Cheap, great flow too bad the rest of the exhaust was all wrong I had
1-Stock DP
2-2 inch back yard bottle neck after the Cat
3-Super old Cat
I was going to put them on the Chevelle but Summit send me the wrong ones (off set) and I just put them on instead.

My GN had glasspacks, a dropin K&N & a Hypertech chip when I bought it. Other than that it was stock. It wasn't very loud. I cut the tailpipe off before the axles, just leaving the stock y pipe and the dual glasspacks, I think they were also 2.25". Without the tailpipe section, it sounded better, but still not very loud. My hooker 2.5" exhaust sounds much better. Think I remember reading that glass packs were a popular mod to the TR in the late 80's, running them backwards (inlet>outlet)?
