What does the GSCA consider a corporate engine?

This is their phraseology in the rules"All cars must be Buick powered. No corporate engines."

So if a engine came in a Buick from the factory does that qualify?

Someone in the know clarify.

Yeah just trying to clarify. So I wont show up with something that maybe considered "corporate" when it was put in Buicks form the factory and get the boot LOL

usually when buick classes are run in events its usually stated " buick body /buick powered " and that alone means no corporate like LS or SB chevy ... but if that doesnt include the 3800 series 1 or series 2 3.8L stuff that is generally accepted as buick power than they need to say so


and just being a buick body doesnt make it eligible for most buick classes because buick did make and sell cars with motors from olds and pontiac back in the day , and newer with corporate motor (genereally considered to be chevy division ) and now with guys running ls stuff and small blocks i guess that what they dont want in the buick classes

I cant see how they could turn away LT1 since it came in a Roadmaster. Or a LS that came in the rainier. I mean Buick powered is Buick powered pretty straight forward if it came in a buick as a available engine then it "should" be allowed. But it is the GSCA and well...I digress LOL.

Corp, engines...chevy,olds,pontiac,caddy. If it isn't a true Buick engine they don't recognize it. Us locals around here don't recognize the GSCA as a club either...

The huge 90's Buick Roadmasters had a "corporate motor" . GS club said NO to them back then. Maybe now they may let it go where everything now is corporate Now a tank like that with a Buick turbo motor they might
