What ga wire do YOU have from 200 amp alt to batt?

hey guys, I was cleaning up my engine bay the other day. installed a 2 ga grd from block to frame as well. I was wondering my alt wire coming from my 200 amp alt to my batt is roughly 8 ga?? and the pos batt cable going to starter is like 2 ga. why the alt wire is so thin compared to the other?? This is a HD caspers battery cable upgrade I bought years ago.

i think the high-current variant is a 6gauge cable.... if you wanted you could use a 4 gauge but it John thinks 6gauge is good enough for 200amps who am i to argue [he's a pretty smart guy]

i'm running 4 gauge only because it gouing to a cut off swtich on the rear bumper. Before that i was using 8 gauge .

It would all depend on demand. Are you using 200amps?
