What is an SVT COBRA?

I was driving to work & out of the toll gate this black looking cobra stang took off fast.. Sounded good.

Hard to tell the years of these beasts since they all look alike.

is SVT special vehicle Tech?????

SVT Cobra, SVT Lightning, SVT Contour, SVT Taurus SHO, etc.

Just Ford's performance division of 'tuner' cars..

The new SVT Cobra's are rated at 390hp and all the rage right now.

Be careful about them, local ex-GN guy ran 11.7 with his 2003 Cobra on ET streets the other night! He "demolished" a GN on one run.

SVT= Special Vehicle Team. and they look no more alike than any of the GN's roaming around. They do know there is still people out there with a desire for good old V-8 performance. SVT does do some good things, even though they aren't V-6 turbos. Just my humble opinion and subject to argument. lol,,,,,, Mark

That's one thing (about the only until the 03 Cobras) that I have always like about the VT8 Moosewang's.. They sound great..

At least Ford has a performance department/division - GM could learn a lot from their success as of late..

I think GM has a Special division or team. ( i don't know what they are called.
I have seen countless times on the road & track program
all these cool GM cars that they tease us with & never make

Then they go & make a Fake aussie GTO

Can't wait to see who wins this Drag race the 04 tang or the 04 Goat under machine

If your talking about the Z in your sig, there would have to be something you're not telling. I can't think of an SVT vehicle made in the last 10 years (other than the 1st gen Lightnings) that wouldn't walk all over a 305 with an automatic. Heck, I don't even think they broke out of the 15's stock.
Good luck with the TR, it'll need to be more than stock to hang with an '03 Cobra.

I personally have nothing against fords.
To be honest of all the car companies that I expected to
drop performace was Ford.

Seems like Ford has done some neat things with some of there line up.

What grabs my goat is GM makes something good then drops it too fast.

Just the other day I drove my bosses 1991 SS 454 pickup truck.
It was a blast to feel this much power.
Why they did not offer an LS1 or Supercharged motor & continue the lineup?

I would bet money on the Cobra every time. Stock they are capable of dipping into the 12 second range without popping the hood. The GTO will most likely cost as much as the Cobra and will be lucky to be a 13 second car because of weight. You will have to spend money on the GTO to get it to keep up.
Plus with mod's, there are guys with new Cobra's in the 9's already on their stock unopened long blocks (Nitrous Pete).

why the With some bolt on's those things are running low 12's. Do a few more things hello 11's.

There are quite a few of them at Atco Raceway in the 12's and 11's.(the track I go to).

All the performance with a factory warranty? Not too shabby in my book.

I can tell you that I had alot of fun with mine. With just an air filter, it put out 404 rwhp and ~425 once I added a cat back exhaust. Not bad for $400 in mods.
