Looking to put a new Cat back on my GN. In the past I used Dyno max super turbos and they were pretty quite. That was many years ago wondering what was available now days.

Performance and very quite is what I am looking for.

When I bought my car is had Ultraflow mufflers on it and it was very quiet.
The pipes rotted out on that system, so I bought the Hooker system with aerochambers and it's a little louder than the ultraflows, but still fairly quiet.
Performance wise I don't know if there is much of a difference. Do a search and you'll see that there is probably someone in the tens with every system and finding little loss in power.

ultraflows all the way. have them on my high ten second buick and love them. sound fairly stock at an idle and give a good sound cruzin. hard to say what they sound like when i'm on it cause i'm too busy looking in my rear view mirror to see the face of the guy how thought he had a chance.

Ultra flow

One thing that I want to avoid is that 50 mph droan resinating under the car. My Father has this problem with the pit bull muffs, I like the sound when getting on it but that cruise droan is annoying. I did not get that with my Dyno maxes.

Are the Ultraflows a center in and center out system?

Thanks,

Dennis

I went to my local wholesale auto parts warehouse http://www.wdautoparts.com/ and they had a stock type setup for Monte SS for under 100 with Cherry bomb "turbo" mufflers. The pipes are only 2 1/4 and have terrible bends and The y pipe could'nt be worse a design. They also exit out the rear but they tucked up real nice so they can't be seen from the side.I don't really like the rear exit but it's easily modified to exit behind the wheel.Even with the crummy pipes the car still moves,I also have an electric cutout to open it up when necessary but find most of the time it is not needed on the street and can't feel a diff at 14 psi anyhow, boost only jumps 1 psi w/dump open. The police don't hear a thing either, whisper quiet cruising and no drone at all.It is great because I lure victims in with it because they think it is weak with this tiny exhaust but soon find out different... total stealth mode :) .

i got the Flowmaster exhaust, and it is rather quiet.
when i got the car, the stock muffler was all rotted and blown apart, so i just took the muffler out and ran it like that for a couple of months. then i got the Flowmaster kit, and it runs better than without a muffler- better throttle response and a bit more boost- and it fit really nice. my only gripe was that it only included the muffler and the pipes that go over the rear end and the tail pipes that stick out behind the wheels- but it does look stock after i painted the tail pipes flat black.
i need to get the "Y" pipe behind the cat fixed up, since it is rusted thru where it splits, and the Flowmaster kit was listed as a "cat back" system, so i thought it would be in the box.

for performance and sound the ULTRAFLOW's are the way to go. They flow like a pitbull and are way way quiter :)
Had them on my last car and will be changing to one next year for now Pit Bull and the NASTY Drone!!
