What is the proper way to do a Compression check?

I have done it like this in the past
1-run the car until it reaches normal operating temp.
2-disable the ignition
3-remove a spark plug
4-connect compression gauge
5-hold the Throttle at wide open position
6-then crank the engine a few times

Is this correct or should I or do I need to change something?

Yes. Remove all the plugs to take the load off the starter motor. You're going to check all the holes anyway. Usually 5 revolutions is enough to get a stable reading.

My guess ~100 psi. You dont want more than a 10% diff between cylinders.

View points on WOT testing varies, I always forget to do it but WOT compression testing seems logical to me.
