Just wondering what the factory stock 12" D5 stalls at in our Turbo Buicks?

I've heard people state different stalls that vary from 2000 t0 2400?

Does GM have anything published on this in their factory service manuals or anything else official?

Just wondering.

Thanks,
Dave

It's about 1800@0. The diesel cores GM used reportedly stalled a few hundred rpm higher but they werent common. The tag on the converter can be decoded to give the stall speed.

Thanks Bison!
I'll dig out the convertor and post the numbers stamped on it, maybe someone can help to decode it?

thx

Stall speed will also vary on whether the owner knows how to tune...or not.
