I am new to the gn's and got the car apart. I thought this was the map sensor but after doing some looking around the map sensor looks totally different. Is it a type of map sensor or what?

Thanks for the help!

Pressure sensor for digital dash cars. The map sensor on a GN is only for analog dash equipped cars, and offers no feedback to the factory ECM.

The car had a digital dash in it but was in the trunk when I got it, it now has all autometer gauges in it. So do I need a map sensor? Because I have an extra plug next to that pressure sensor and the map sensor appears to plug into it. The car runs like crap under load so I thought it might be the problem

As statedthe above in the stock configuration the map does nothing except run the stock boost gauge on an analog car, digital dash cars just have a boost switch to turn on the boost light (no gauge)

Find a good shop in your area to help you figure that out. Don't get on it until you do. What engine management is in the car? Need a lot more info about your car to help.

Not the problem. The map sensor does nothing but light up the boost gauge on an analog car. To figure out you issue, you need to see what the base fuel pressure is, what fuel pressure is when on boost, reading from the mass airflow sensor, AFR, boost pressure, octane, knock retart. Most likely will be an easy fix, but figuring out the problem is tough without the proper tools and know how.

Thanks for the reply, was confused on last post but I understand now. Will keep trying to track down my problem then.

I have another posting in engine tech on what fuel pressure is and what I know is done to the car, also some readings I have from my snapon scanner. Posting is studder at 2400rpm.
