Just wondering how many different cars people have seen with gn drivetrains in. And if any were easy to switch to gn powered.
 
I have seen two 1980's El Camino's with GN drive trains.

One guy here in NH actually put a GN front clip on it.

The other guy on Cape Cod retained the chevy look.

Also saw a 53 Chevy with I think GN motor It may have been the
4.1 syclone motor??

So it can be done, but I would think you should own a GN first to understand what is needed prior to attempting a transplant.

Mine's going in a 1936 Chevy Master Town Sedan. I've seen 'em in Camaro's (new and old), Trucks, and several others. Check out the Hybrid section of Turbobuicks.com.
 
I took one and put it into an 87 Buick Regal........Oh wait ...it came that way!!:D
 
Well, my grandpas 87 Regal came from the factory with the 307, 3 speed trans and 2.14 open rear. (Yes, my grandpa really did buy it new back then)
That wasn't exactly fast enough for me, so I fixed that.
Dropped in a whole 87 GN drivetrain a few years back.

My buddy and I almost put one in an older nissan Z that he had at the time. Found an 86 GN setup, but then he wrecked the Z. It was a good idea though.

My swap was fairly easy, considering it was going into another Regal anyway. It was all the minor stuff that was needed to complete it that was the real pain. Wiring, computer, exhaust, gas tank, fuel lines, electric fan, pump wiring, etc. At least I dont have to worry about the crappy powermaster brakes though!
 
We did a '42 Studebaker years ago, an '87 ElCamino and just took on a project of putting one in a 98 Trans Am.

I've got a friend with an 87 GN drivetrain in an old Anglia. Even when the motor was stock it was still a scary ride ;)
 
White Fiero..

A couple years back I saw a pearl white Fiero with the GN engine sitting sideways. Did a really nice job making, didn't look like a hack job at all. Had to rerun the plumbing for the intercooler. Intercooler was sitting in front of the back bumber with the stock scoopy pulling air from under the car.

AN ANGLIA?? OMG, that's a sick ride!!
 
I know kaminski has done of the top of my head...monte carlos...corvette...el caminos...he has a cobra kit car in his garage at the moment...s-10...f body firebird (bye bye birdie)...theres probaly more thats just what came to my head
 
One of the cleanest installs I have seen was back in 1990 or 1991. The car was a 1987 Monte Carlo LS (the one with the composite headlights). The car was dark blue w/ an SS spoiler and it had the aluminum MCSS rims. The car looked super clean and almost factory.

Some oddball swaps that I have seen in person.....

You've seen a TR powered Reatta? Any pics? I always wondered if someone had attempted that with Buick's little 2 seater!!
 
there is a guy on this board with a death wish, goes by the name of nashty. he's attempting to stuff an lc2 into a geo metro and seems to be making progress. talk about a wild ride. i've also seen rx-7s and an old street rod or 2.
 
Fiero...

I had spoke to the gentlemen with the Fiero conversion. He wouldn't indicate what times it ran, just said that he was having problems frying clutches. I couldn't imagine rowing the gears with this motor. Couldn't imagine it makes the best of the power either. Unless you've got a quick spooling turbo... then I'd imagine the motor winds up faster then you can shift it depending on your gearing. I had thought about a 3800 in a Fiero for a fun daily driver. But that's when I lived 45 mins from work.

Also, I remember at e-town seeing a Jeep Wrangler.
