I'm overseas and will be need an ac system soon. I want one in the living room, Master bedroom and spare bedroom. One compressor for the living room and one compressor to run the two bedrooms. Went to a couple of AC shops and they gave me two systems. a 9000 btu for each bedroom and an 1800o btu for the living room. Assume the BTU is a standard measurement? Here are the measurements.

600x700 cm living room
500x270 cm bedrooms.
All ceilings are about 250 cm high.

Thanks in advance.

I'll try to look this up today, I just did this for a garage apartment we have. You do not want to over buy. The systems need to run on cycle.

Good advice, I installed a 3 phase electrical service in some dummie's house cuz he got a free roof top unit from a commercial building, used a ton of energy and never worked right in his 1000 square foot home, had to rip it out..

The correct way to properly size an a/c system is to do a heat load calculation or what we call in the trade a manual j calculation. This will determine the correct btu's of cooling needed for the area at question. Oversizing will short cycle the system and little to no humidity will be removed while operating. Under sizing the system will cause it to run continuously and not satisfy. In conclusion you should ask the a/c contractor what method they are using to determine the heat gain of the area your looking to condition.

Thanks your. I get 14k for the living room and 6.7k for each bedroom. Would an 18k and 9k system be too large.....this is what all the shop salesmen are saying. Did not give them any measurements at the time.
Also, I may have got it wring in the first post....... Can I run TWO 9k systems off of ONE compressor? Our balcony is a bit tight for space.
