Picked of a t type for parts a couple days ago and found this in the trunk. Any idea what it is? Is it even related to a turbo buick?

Looks like a box from an old school cold air intake setup

Old school ATR ram air one was on my car when I bought it...Mike

Ram air on a turbo car.... Priceless.

currently cutting it the F loose

Don't make me bust out the ATR Catalog from the 90's proving that induction system netted 15-20 hp gain on the dyno :ROFLMAO:

Even more funny is I still have this on my car! Lol! Am I leaving some performance on the table by running this old school crap? Sure. But I leave it on simply because I think its old school cool. We don't have a track here anyway and I don't street race so its staying on until I get tired of it :D

lol, like the old kenne bell catalogs back in the day we use to call them desk top dyno books just add up your desired HP:D

Just one I those things that are interesting to see, and what parts people were using years ago to make these cars faster

I just picked up a TB and this is what my car has in it! Is it worth replacing with a cone? I believe it has a Kenne Bell chip too. Have not pulled it out you but the car came with paperwork for it. Should I replace it with a TT chip?

It's worth replacing with an open filter in the engine bay if you're looking to maximize performance. I would definitely change the chip. That chip is likely to have too much timing for todays gas. Before you go out and buy a chip I would try and set a goal for your car so you're not buying parts that you out grow too soon. Then buy an injector and chip package that works for your overall goal. If you buy only the chip now and decide on bigger injectors later you will then need to send the chip back for a reburn anyway.

60 or 80lb injectors is the new standard these days. Again, just depends on your goals.
