The wife has a business meeting in Detroit this week and I'll be going along for the ride.

I'll be looking for something to do while the she is at her meetings.
Maybe an auto factory tour or something related to cars, maybe an
auto museum?

Anybody have any suggestions?

GM doesnt have one, however... i did the ford tour in dearborne (or however its spelled)

the ford museum was very amusing to walk around and see the displays. I was staying at the GM Building/Ren Center. not much to do right there.

Hr drive north to Flint for the Sloan Museum.. way better then henry ford

Mostly Buicks!

Best to wear bullet proof vest to both of these. Both are in the top 3 of most dangerous US cities. In addition to the vest, I recommend a SigSauer 229 .40 for personal defense.

They have a couple of Casinos in Detroit and Windor, CN has some great strip clubs.

You are right about this!!!

The Mayor of our fair City of Detroit is a tourist attraction also.

LOL Flint is only dangerous if you break down on the north end......or the east side...... and sometimes on the south end but stay away from the west side!

the Motor City Shakedown

Yeah was watching a new show called DEA filmed in Detroit that is one crazy ass dangerous city be careful you don't turn down the wrong road and end up in the Hood. They pack alot heat in the MotorCity...a Sig 229 at least wouldn't be a bad idea.

They stuff they pack around here will make that Sig look like a starter pistol a track race and you better be the one running. When will you be in town? Give me a call after tomorrow and I will give you some places to go.
Mike

Wow... I didn't know it was that bad.
Now I'm having second thoughts, I don't like chitty neighborhoods.

Thanks for the heads up, maybe I'll just hangout at the hotel pool

Go to the greektown casino. Lots of bars and nice restaurants in greektown, not a bad area at all. I lived in the Detroit area for a little over 5 years, I stayed away from the city for the most part, but greektown is always a good time. If you like pizza go to Pizzapopulous ( i think thats how its spelled). The best pizza I ever had.
