Need to beef up transmission for new e85 car
Have used speciality GN Trans guys in past but I want local now where can just drop it off for swap or issues at shop on my street

This Car is 550 HP
e85 and not tracked currently

What should I buy and from who?
I would rather get decent parts myself to make sure what goes in it

Do I need any hardened parts?
I have 1-2 gear sets for spares THS somewhere but didn't think I need those for this daily driver

Thx

you should ask Lonnie Diers,(http://www.extremeautomatics.com/) I think he is closest to you
as he does alot of HD trans,
but, stronger input shaft/ shell is a must, (I broke 3 in 3 weeks)
I'm not a trans guy, so I'm sure there are others who can offer better/ complete answers,
do not skimp on HD parts, as it will bite you.

If your local guy hasn't built a 2004r that has lived behind a performance engine, I would be prepared to drop it several times.

As far as hard parts, a billet shaft forward drum, hardened stator and sun shell, a good condition resurfaced drum and wide carbon band and a larger 2nd servo(I like the sonnax but I'm sure others would work). It needs careful and properly clearanced assembly. It isn't a th350 or th400 and cant be just assembled. If your guy is willing to learn take the time to do it right you might be ok but there are plenty of posts on here about their local guy and transmission failure.

I used A GUY that supposedly put the entire ART CARR catalog into a 200 for me, It worked like shit and died quickly and this was on stock power 93 13# boost.
I would never use a guy that is NOT a 200 specialist again. OHH and he left out all of the expensive ART CARR shit that i paid for.
Good luck dude.

Sometimes it's less expensive to pay for shipping than it is to do the same job 2 times.

Also transmissions require not just parts but adjustments So good parts in a badly calibrated trans can equal a pile of junk real quick.
