Was thinking a Gt-67 with 4" inlet 2.5 outlet with a 82 or 85 exhaust housing which ever comes with it.... or trying to find a te-45a with 4" inlet!!!
Likw to have a turbo that you can hear coming but performance is top priority.. My current turbo is a te-61, should I try to max this turbo out first to see what it will do or shouldI just go ahead an upgrade now??

What housing is on your 61 (turbine side)? May want to try out a .85 for that unit. I went just as fast with a 61 as I did a 67 (GT compressor wheel). I'd skip the 67, and try a 45a or a 70 ball-bearing.

Hello

I think its a .62 AR Housing!!! Man thats awesome that you run the same with the 61, but how much more booost did ya have to run with the 61??? I thought the Gt-67 an the 45a were basically the same turbo, guess not .. What are the differences?? Besides the 45a is a lil more expensive an the 67 has a different wheel with a extra blade an different housing...

Well, to tell the truth, I went .1 FASTER with a TE61 (.85 housing) About 30PSI, 11.1 et, stock motor.

TE67 Went 11.2 at 25PSI, but at 31PSI it still went 11.2 ??

The TE67 is same as GT67, but it has a small compressor cover. Both P-trim turbines, both have 67mm GT compressor wheels. The 67 came on just as fast, or even a little faster than the 61, believe it or not. I had a small shaft version from John Craig, the one you are looking at is 2x the $$, but I guess it is a stronger big shaft unit with the bigger cover (which I heard adds a little hp, like 20-30?) If you look in the inlet, you will see it tapers down to 3" anyway. So I don't see how that helps much. I guess the magic is in the 2 1/2" outlet, and the shape/volume of cover (A/R)

You have alot of big stuff already in your combo, so why not go right to a 70 and be done with it. You won't have to upgrade from there.

Well!!!

I would like to go to a 70 an the Gt-70 was a consideration but I do no think I have enough stall to spool a 70 an i want to keep the stall as tight as possible cause I am gonna drive this car.. My friend he's got a GTQ 70 with a 911 3500 stall an he has to really lean on the car to get it going on the bottom end. His combo is basically the same as mine except for the convertor.. Guess the easiest way to answer my dilema is whats the biggest turbo I can run with my current stall an have excellent spool on the street?????

I have heard the GT67 can spool good with a 3200 stall. The 45A and 70 will want 3500. But if the tune is set up good, maybe try the RJC light weight pullies and boost valve a 3200 might work for 45A or 70.

But if you think you only want to run 25lbs of boost, go with the 67 and 3200 stall.

what kind of boost control are you running? an rjc boost controller or a nice greddy profec unit really helps with spool up by not letting the wastegate creep open.
