car is sold. we dont know who the buyer is yet. john is hoping they will contact him. he has many extra parts for the car.

Say it aint so!

it seems like a lot of people are dissapointed with the price the car went for. i can understand that but look at the price stage motor cars sell for. most of the time these cars are in the $20,000 range. it costs almost that to build the motors. you never get what the car is really worth. this is always true for all out race cars. yes the car was super clean and very fast and made nhra history. it is a very cool car. $46,000 for a stage motor car is a good selling price. and is a good deal for the buyer. john was happy with the sale and thats all that matters.

That selling price sucks for John, the new owner should be jumping up and down. I looked at it in BG and it looked top notch to me

I got $20,000 for an unfinished back half roller and Duttweiler Stage 2 Motor that was not put together.

In theory John should have done better but I guess the market dictates the price. I think another venue may have help a little but it just seems these GN Race Cars have little monitary value.

That is a good excuse to never sell my existing project!

;)

I don't know if the wife will fall for that one!

Those are the "traditional" super stocks. The SS/X cars are usually FWD cars with a rear wheel drive conversion. They are more the "what if" class (like what if you could get a Cavilier with a Camaro V8?), vs. the traditional SS/Letter cars that came that way from the factory.

Thanks, UNGN. Is this the original Funny Car class? With the old Ramchargers?
