That's not good because I have the "H" cover, which one if you know lines up with it? Or what has to be modified?

I have the PTE SLIC and a PT67 with H cover (4 inch in, 3 inch out) and have no alignment problems. Everything bolted right up without any modifications.

I dont know why mine didnt align right...I fought and fought with it to make it work. Maybe it was the 14 beers I drank when I was installing it. :D

Seriously...Some others have had the same problem, cant tell you the answer as to why some do and some dont.

here ya go. no other mods needed.

I don't think anyone will argue that a front mount is the best. The only negative, in the past, was the radiator overheating, especially in traffic with the air on.

I used to run the stock recored radiator and stock single fan with the V1. I'd make a run, pop the hood on return road, and immediately once back in line I'd shut off the engine, fully open the hood and manually turn on the fan. I did this for years and on hot summer days the temp somtimes didn't go down much. It was the best I could do and the engine suffered if we raced soon again.

I then put in the F-body radiator and dual fans. Along with the silly little connector that still uses the stock fan wiring. Once this was installed I could make a run, drive back to the lanes, and IDLE the engine in the lanes with the fans on, hood still closed. The temp dropped within 5 minutes to race ready 160 degrees.

So in my humble opinion, the biggest front mount is fine for traffic as long as you use the dual fans. Never tried dual fans with the stock radiator so can't compare whether the fans would do the same cooling with it.

But I'm sold on the dual fans and the F-body radiator while using a front mount.

I personally prefer FM's. Nothing wrong with SLIC's but here are a few reasons why I prefer FM's. I don't like the loss in ground clearance with a SLIC. I had a Action Fab stretch years ago that got wasted by a 18 wheeler in front of me kicking up a retread that I couldn't avoid. I think performance is pretty much equal at the track with cool down times in between runs but I feel the FM does have a pretty good advantage on back to back runs. When I had a stretch SLIC the first run was great but it would get slower if I ran it back to back. WIth the FM I didn't find this to be the case. No big shocker-the FM out in the cool air vs. the SLIC in the engine compartment. With that being said and my preference known if I had to drive the car everyday I would probably run a SLIC.

2tone,
How much HP are you shooting for? I see you are running a fairly large turbo...do you have heads, injectors and cam to go with it? The stretched stock location would be strong with alky injection or E-85. Go with FMIC only if you will need the extra cooling.

You Earned It---Blow It However You Want

A stock factory intercooler,

with water-meth injection,

fully dialed-in w/a TurboTweak chip,

covers 98.6% of the TRs on the street.

BUT, if anyone has spare g-notes

to spend on that sort of magical "UPS-HP"

delivered in a box, or just to "fall-in-line",

might as well get that mandatory DP

at the same time, right? --- :)

We ran at 20psi and were dead even... oh he has a GT6131. We have stock heads, just port matched and valve job.

For what it's worth, I've run 107mph in the 8th mile with 2 and a half STOCK intercoolers. I done this about 8 years ago.

WHAT??? O.k., you have our attention. Now you have to explain. Did you put one in front of the radiator and one in the stock location? Did you have some engine cooling issues? I would have never thought of doing that. A+ for creativity!
