What would you guys think my next step in performance should be,this is whats done so far - bored +.040-balanced-cam, lifters, roller rockers-ported heads-ported intake-rcj race plate, triple grind on valves-headers-3'' down pipe-under sized pulleys,340 fuel pump-42.5 injectors,Can't think of what else I've done, running STOCK turbo, I'm thinking of going to alky, then turbo next year, or would you guys do the turbo first ? My goal is a streetable 11 second car, oh yea-shift kit and no cat-ajd, fuel regulator. thanks
Vern

I would do the alky kit first. Next to a good downpipe and exhaust combo, arguably the most bang for the buck. If you haven't done so yet, also look into some suspension options that will allow you to hook up better (air bags, pinion snubber, etc) What times are you running now??

I don't have any times yet, I only have about 800 miles on rebuild,I do have poston 3'' down pipe and new exhaust, duals, I know I need supension upgrades, car seems to pull like hell in first and second, then seems to loose a little in third, 15 lbs of boost.

If you have them, I would take off the undersized pulleys and put the stock size or get the RJC pulleys. TR's use a lot of electricity at WOT so you want to spin the Alt. as fast as possible to feed the Fuel pump, ignition, inj. etc.

I would upgrade the turbo first to a ta-49/te-44 for a mostly street driven car - especially with ported heads. Later adding alky would let you run over 20# of boost on the street whic will bring the larger turbo to life.

I'd agree with the alchy before the turbo. Also, what are you using for tires? Get some nice drag radials if you don't already have them. Also look at a convertor, depending on how good the current one is. You definitely won't pull hard in third only running 15lbs on the stock turbo. Get everything running great at about 21-22 lbs boost with the alchy and see if anything is lacking before stepping up to a bigger turbo. You may not need anything else of there may be little things here and there that add up. I'd say you already have a streetable 11 second car. Just needs good tuning and a good launch. Since you already have the engine work done though, might as well step up to a bigger turbo and have a mid/low 11 second car.

Murphster, I like your advise, mainly because it goes along with what I was thinking, tires- 275/60(new) 2700 stall, I think alky first, get a super tune, then see where I stand. Don't get me wrong, I'd spring for both, but any money I spend on my car, My wife will match it on our home, tends to slow my spending a bit

I feel your pain..........

If you have any wheel hop, maybe add boxed lca's w/new bushings while you update the stock rear suspension?...it was suggested to me so that I don't tear up my rear end. I get wheel hop with drag radials and air bags on a stock suspension car so that's on my list of things-to-do.

Edward, thanks, in fact I'am thinking about making my own upper and lower control arms, Some tubing a welder some bushings, how hard can it be ?
