I have a converter which I assume is rebuilt - Has D6 or D9 stamped around it. (not sure which way up the number is)
Has marker pen writing on it that reads CGE, part # B15X, turbo 2004R, Turbo.
Has six flex plate lugs.

Anyone know what it was originally from?

I think it came from Dr. Steve's transmissions in Massachusettes. Can't find much about them. Has anyone had dealings with them?

It is a rebuilt unit for sure. The "C" stands for 200/2004R with 27 spline. "G" stands for originally a 1425 stall (because of the D6 also) and "E" is for the Diesel application with the 6 lugs with 180 weld around each lug. Could have been made with the stator to be the B15X converter but they should have started with the D5 or 5 core in the first place. Any converter supposedly can be made to work. It would have normally had a 19 vane stator instead of the "turbo stator" (15 vane if I remember correctly)

Thanks for the info, never heard of them either. I bought a trans from a friend and this converter came with it. It's new but the D6 and six lugs threw me a bit, didn't know if it was usable or not.
I've no idea of the stall speed, I assume it's been reworked seeing as it says turbo on it.

Still, I run one of Dusty's converters so this will go to one side anyway - might come in handy one day.

Would the six lugs be a problem on our cars, would it be worth removing them?
