So I'm at a loss for what to do here. I was going to pick up a set of Metro super soft outer T top seals, but then found out that is what I already have. On top of that, I found a very lengthy thread on a MCSS forum where everyone was complaining about the EXACT same issues I am having with the Metro outer T top seals. They complain about them being too hard, not being wide enough, having ends that don't match the rest, and being inconsistent in firmess. These are exactly the issues I have. I called NOS4GN. They sold out of OEM ones 2 years ago and are not close to coming up with another product. I guess I'm out of luck until someone comes up with a better product.

I bought the t-top weatherstripping from A-1 many years ago. Just now getting it installed now. Let you guys know the outcome

So there are so many conflicting reports here. I checked and A-1 apparently carries Softseal. Some people love it, but say that it is Metro. Not sure if they changed brands at some point or what because I see people here saying that Softseal is crap.

I saw the packages to when I was out at Carlise and they were there. Same company but the only thing of there's I know fits pretty good are the door weatherstripping. I used their window weather stripping that runs along the glass wasn't that happy with it. At the time wasn't really that knowledgable about how to adjust the windows as I am now but I would try them again for the price. I've seen GM NOS originals break/ split on friends cars after they put it in after a year. Not worth it for the money people charge for the GM stuff.

So now I'm wondering if all you who saying that the Metro stuff is so great all have hard top cars?

I personally will not use them(metro) for t tops. Since I'm getting rid of my t top car I guess I'll never find out.

Metro Super Soft is the best I have seen / used. Just like OEM. I would use the Metro brand again any time.

The Soff Seal brand was terrible last time I tried it. Maybe you got the Soff Seal stuff?
I worked for Metro(one mile up the road from me) about 10 years ago and I have to say the t-top
seals made for the various cars was pretty good. It wasn't until they were trying to get the roof rail seals
perfected for the g-bodies that ticked me off. I let them take the seals off one of my Regals' and put
theirs in...they were junk! I had to slam the doors or make sure the windows were down a little bit
before closing them. I don't know if they ever got the problem sorted out...I moved on.

In 2008 I spent big bucks on GM stuff, the is the best and mine are cracking and splitting. My car stays inside when not being driven. I should rubbed something on them.

It seems like the biggest beef everyone has with metro is the outer t top strips. The rest of the stuff seems to be good enough. I will make sure tu religiously coat my nos seals with silicone and hope they hold out long enough for someone to come up with a set that works well.

The best stuff I've used for weatherstrip protectant is 303 Aerospace Protectant...been using it for many years...I replaced my T-Top weatherstripping(all OEM stuff) about 13 years ago and it's still like new...the car does stay in the garage under a cover most of the time...Mike you can get the 303 from the RV places...I used to get mine from the RV place on McQueeen near the 60...can't remember the name of it... if not there check the internet...they have a website

Thanks Scott! I'll make sure to do that. Are you talking about Camping World? I really wish I got my hands on OEM stuff when I had the chance. I really do believe that it will last if you take care of it.

I had to stuff foam inside my new seals near the bottom of the A-pillar window seal. That was the only way to seal up the gap.
