I've never ever purchased a name brand computer. I build them myself from parts.

Ok I lie, I have bought an E-machines, I donated it for a charity. And I bought an Apple (mac-mini) for my wife, but I've never USED a PC that was a name brand, other than laptops (only because it's about impossible to build those yourself).

Even in my business I build the servers, I never buy pre-built servers (122 servers, every one built by my hand).

My current laptop is a Toshiba, the last one was Dell.

I used to build my own PCs about 10 years ago but not anymore. I own a Sony Vaio desktop and don't laugh but a Lenovo(IBM) laptop(it's a work computer so it's free).

Lenovo/IBM laptops are awesome, they're just so dratted expensive :)

Custom built tower desktop and a Dell C400 due to its lightweight and alright speed. I use it for school.

Dell Dimension E520 desktop. I wasn't crazy about switching to Windows Vista but now it seems to be working okay. At first I was having problems with every program I was running.

I use both Mac and Dell at work. Dell for simple surfing, word, basic apps and e-mail and mac for design applications. Photshop, Illustrator ex.
I'm on Dad's Hewlitt Packard now.
I'm good with either platform. I haven't owned a computer at home for 3 years, but I'm going to buy a Mac next week. For design purposes, No virus.
