I want replace the stock servo with a billet servo and don't know which brand is the best and most reliable. Any suggestions?

Of course there are benefits.Increased clamping force and reduced slippage on apply. The larger the servo area the greater the apply pressure fed to the servo is multiplied in clamping force.

Why dont you answer the guys question instead of playing games? We all know the game. Why dont you phone in and get it off your chest girl?

If you have a problem with the 1-2 shift it's not caused by the servo. A larger servo isn't needed.

No one said he was having problems. The guy wants a billit servo and wants to know where to get one. You are doing a good job of not answering his question.

To the original post, I'd go with one of the vendors on this site. I have a lot of CK performace parts in my transmission and am very happy with them but I know PTS makes a good servo too.

Our servo doesnt have that problem when you install the original return springs as stated in the instructions. If there are any clunks after installation it is very rare and I give phone help to undo the mod that causes it.

I have bought 2 servo's from chris and both worked great. You see when I installed my 9.5 vig. converter my 1-2 shift softened a bit and wanted to try his servo. Yes I felt a difference in the 1-2 shift it was more firmer with a more solid chirp from the tires. I installed it in 15 minutes and IMO it was worth it..I have no 3-2 downshift clunk either;)

The CK servo is a nice piece. I've used dozens of them. Proven performer.

Again,
simple hydraulics. Increased apply area = increased power capacity at the 2nd gear band.

Nothing wrong with installing a bilelt servo, I have several customers who wanted improved shifting on a stock GN transmission and the servo change alone made them happy.

I have a CK servo on 2 transmissions with 280 line preassure no clunk on down shift

No 2-1 clunk like others because it retains the big cushion spring as Hydramatic intended it to be. I actually noticed better 2-3 with CK servo in an otherwise untouched BR 200-4R. It was one of the first CK ever put in a car. Remember that day Chris? The accessory belt **** the bed and we barely made it back to the shop. However i have ran the stocker into the 10's and the band/drum was fine. If you have a hard launching car id go with a deep pan and bottom feed setup to prevent cavitation.

The CK servo nicely firmed up my upshifts with no side effects. I went from a slight 2nd gear chirp to mean barks and sideways 1-2 shifts at my disposal.

Sure a GN servo can last for a bit even in a 10 second car... but it doesn't hurt in the least to run a good aftermarket servo. I prefer the ones that have the cushion spring to reduce the 3-2 clunk and help prevent broken anchors and bands.

How much torque is the motor, that 87Turbo-TWE4 has in front of his transmission, making? Does he have a NEED for a larger servo?
