Which Speedo Gear?

The speedometer on my GN is not functioning properly. It would jump all over the place, or wouldn't work at all, which would set off a SES code. To remedy this, I replaced the gear shown (burnt orange) with the new one that the dealer sold to me (translucent light yellow). Both have 14 teeth on the side opposite the governor weights. However, with the new gear, the speedo now gives a higher MPH reading. Any ideas? The gears look identical.

The big end of the gear has too many teeth you need to get another orange gear.

Orange-11 teeth
White- 13 teeth

You need part number 8634965.

This is a good number as we just recieved a box of these gears last week.

Yep and that is the right part number. Geoff I told you when I sent that back I had never seen that set up in a turbo regal. I could have sent it back with the right one but I figured you knew something I didnt or you had something funny going on. Guess the something funny was the correct assumption... LOLOL

The CORRECT speedo gear FINALLY arrived at the local dealership! The speedo works perfect now. Thanks all!
