Last march the car had been running consistant 11.77 to 11.80's with the stock turbo, injectors ect.

Wednesday i installed a TA61 turbo with the garrett exhaust housing and a set of 009 injectors.

Best passes were

27psi of boost locked stock torque convertor, tweak chip 110 racegas and small shot of methanol.

Gains were 6 tenths and 7mph over the stock turbo and injectors. Nothing else done to the car other than the ta61 and 009 injectors with matching chip.

Wished i could have been in Reynolds, but i didnt know it was the same weekend as this local shootout.

I got board and just went ahead and overlayed the upgrades over the old combo, and posted the timeslips.

Its not the fastest, but not bad for first time to the track with the new setup and its only been on the car for 3 days :eek:


Passes were at 27 psi, 14 psi launches, 28° and 24°
It boggs a little with the larger turbo and the stock convertor, but im not going to complain one bit.

It was worth adding the turbo to the car. :biggrin:

Im gonna wait till spring, i need to do alot to the car before it gets that 10.99.

I dont know, i dont think i can add more boost or timing and expect anything out of it. If i port the intake over the winter, i know that will get it 2 tenths and a few mph too. Did it back to back on my other car and made a huge difference.

Convertor is locked with a piece of wire from beginning of the day to the end.

The car would bog on the 2-3 shift cause nothing is done to the govenor, so i had to do it manually to keep the boost up.
