Well my Saga continues...

If any of you have been following my posts you know that I discovered that some how the wrong valve springs were installed on the GN I just bought.

The car has a Hyd roller and had standard Hyd cam springs installed. This is why I was floating the valves.

I just got done yanking the heads (isnt that always a joy) Only good thing I can say is by now I have done this dance enough that I know all the moves, order, wrenches and just just how many times I will take the meat off my knuckes.

Now that the heads are off, I can see that I have issues with the valve guides. Does not come as a suprise considering my current luck and all the posts I have read on GN1 valve guide issues.

Who is the Best head person to send my heads to. Someone that knows the cure for the GN1 guide problem. I want my heads done right this time and want the best.

Also is their any more clean up or porting that can be done to GN1's to yeild any gains in performance?

Thanks,

Dennis

Hey i used to live in Anchorage and there is a place down buy Dimond St. Its a performance shop in the area on the other side of the mall. The guy that used to (or still may) work there has an 87 GN, and s typhoon, take it to him and see if he can hook you up. Harry

Just to compare, you might want to call Todd McKenzie at McKenzie Racing Cylinder Heads.

As for qualifications, McKenzie does all of Ken Duttweilers head work.

He did my factory irons last year, very nice work. One man shop. Very reasonable.

He is in Oxnard, CA. Google him to find his number.
