Looking for a compressor wheel and backing plate for a TE-60 turbo. Anybody know where to find these? I’ve purchased a rebuild kit and plan to build a stock turbo and this 60.

Had the 60 rebuilt 3 times professionally and they never lasted more than 1000 miles on the car. I thought it was something I was doing wrong but I bought a brand new precision turbo about 3 years ago and its been fine ever since. Upon disassembly, The compressor wheel has a bent fin. Not from housing contact, it was dropped on the floor or something to cause the damage. It appears to have caused the center section to become out of balance and destroyed the bearing and backing plate.

Thanks fellas! I'll see what I can dig up. I really don’t want to straighten that bent fin. I’m guessing it will snap right off!

Even if you straighten it ,it is probably out of balance. Not sure who did those 1k mile rebuilds but I would think after discovering the bent fin, they need to be called out.
I would get it to a reputable shop and have them give it the once over.

At this point it's water under the bridge. I'm going to rebuild it myself and see how it goes. Plan to do a stocker and this 60. I think I've located a local company to check the balance as well. So we will see how it goes!
