Who sprays the most ALKY and what is your target A/F?

Believe it or not.. this is the most important part.. yet call after call I get.. it is assummed when you buy a chip it is PERFECTLY calibrated to your engine first time out.. I hear the "I told him I have X,Y,Z in the engine.. He should know exactly what I need" :rolleyes:

Cant tell you how many times I hear.. "Its got an X chip...." and either it works or it doesnt.. expecting a miracle.
 
Well I need to ask this, It is not a GN, I am getting a kit for my 87 GN but if nobody minds I would like to talk about my 04 SSR, It has a 5.3 weighs 5,080 lbs. with me in it, Has a supercharger and headers and alky kit, It has 20'' tires so I can't get any good tires, Have BFG KDW's and you have to really baby it off the line and in 2nd. they spin way to much, Best et 12.78 at 108+, At idle my AF is 12.5 and at WOT it is 9.8, Turn the alky on and it is 12.5 idle and 9.2 at wot, I use very little alky and it doesn't seem to matter if you run at 4 or all the way, I know it is spraying because I forgot and left the T/C on and when it hit 2nd and the rear tires broke lose and the T/C cut my gas back I had a alky backfire, Talk about being scared, A big bang through the air cleaner, Thought the engine went

Idle A/F should be somewhere around 1 bar (14.7) more or less; your WOT is WAYYY rich. Do you/haveyo used any programmers to alter your A/F? Other than the mentioned mods, is your SSR stock?

Get some 18" drag radials....

I would like to get some 18'' drag radials but can't find any 18'' wheels to fit the SSR, I use a HPTuner, Have took a lot of fuel out of the pe table, Has super charger headers and 1.85 rocker with bee hive springs, Tranny bulit to take the weight and power, Other than that it is stock, Have more fun racing this than I do the GN, Seems like the alky should change the FA more than it did, Oh well keep tuning racing starts next week

Take the truck to a professional tuner.. should be a straight forward tune.. He can call me if not familiar with my system.

Well Razor I have had two guys working on the tune but tomorrow I am taking it to a dyno and have my wide band and laptop hooked up, It is better when I drove home it was 11.9 with alky and 13.9 without it at WOT set at 4 but my check engine light was on I think cause he checked the spray and stated the engine with the MAF off the truck, I will retune it and see, Will get with you on the GN
 
Just installed WB

For no knock, 10.3/10.5 afr seems to be the ticket for my car (only runing 18/20 lbs. and 17 degrees @WOT)
EDIT: I'm sure car could run more boost but why strain the "2004R trans" and engine on the street, car is fairly quick at that level (low 10's @130+).
 
I've got my dual nozzle kit set around #7 on the adjustment knob.
Boost is around 27psi, and the timing is at TT's default 23 degrees.

I really haven't started leaning on mine yet.... ;)
 
right around 11.4 for me at 28psi, timing is at 26 in 1st/2nd and 20 in 3rd...i have had the car around 10.9 and it seems to nose over at that setting, like it was said some cars like different settings then others mine seems to like it on the leaner side

My car LOVED 11.4 also with the old motor. Unfortunately I also melted a piston. I had a bit more timing than you though. What fuel you using??
 
u sed some wawa 93 but i also splash a little xylene in there when i go out to play just to give me a little safety blanket but have been up to 30psi with just the wawa 93 and no knock..
