Who's the guy locally who paints fillers?
Does he paint OE fillers, or just the ABS and Fiberglass aftermarket pcs?

I might paint them myself....about $50 for the right paint and materials with a little elbow grease added....unless he's close enough to make it worth it to take to him.

Any thougths from those who have been there, done that?

take it to a ligit paint shop chickenhead. $50 bucks in materials wont get you far, thats for sure:eek: what are you going to paint them with? spray paint lol:eek: chickenchoker.;)

ps, i seen a pick of the last run you guys had, somebody had some pipes like your old ones!! did you sell them to him??

Hey TurboElky
I'd use the stuff recommended in this thread if I try it myself.

But I've heard a few of the guys (Graza, Spoolfool, others) mention a local guy who paints a lot of these fillers and knows how to do it for $100...just trying to find him.

Yup, there was a t-top GN there with Monte pipes:tongue: , but honestly...his look better than mine did. They are tucked up and in closer. It's be harder to hang coat hangers from them.

Mine hung low and out....people at bus stops kept trying to grab hold of them when I drove by...
So glad they are gone and my Hooker system is finally in.

$50 won't get you far at all, if its the oem plastic fillers you need to spray them with a special sealer for plastic so the paint won't chip off...if its the fiberglass replacements you'll have to fill in the lil inperfections from the f/g with putty then shot them with a light coat of primer, resand them and then paint....I use to be a painter helper for cormier chevrolet witch is the number 1 dealer in socal in corvette sales so detail is very important...

i'm glad you got those pipes off mean, and happy to see your car is running better after it left Lou's. If I had deep pockets like the rest of the guys, i'd let him do some work for me too! I'm sure you'll get the fillers figured out, listen to gnbooster, sounds like he knows his detail.

if u need to i have a good friend that owns a body shop and would love to do them. im in arizona

I hear you guys.
I'm also a complete rookie when it comes to paint prep and paint, so....

Hey Graza and Spoolfool...who's that guy you use for your filler painting?

Turboelky,If I make miniumn wage working on some of the problems that are caused by the experts out there I feel fortunate. I just got done spending almost three weeks on a car bought off e-bay.The owner worked on it for two years before he decided to give up & bring it to me. If I hadn't hung in there & helped him his car would of been worthless.Cause no one else would of spent the time it took to fix it. Ask Brent on how rich I get working on Buick's he hung around for some time & seen what it takes. Another misconception & If can find someone to help me fix my 15 year old web site is that I'm a vendor. It seems that if I try and make any profit on parts anymore I'm a thief. I'm now primarily a general repair shop & guidance counselor for people who think I'm too expensive.I'm not some back yard hack & I have dedicated my life to this trade. Since 1962 to be exact. Show me anyone else here with the same tenacity.I'm not taking your comment personal but Count your blessings that I'm still around if you should need me.

I can personally vouch that Lou has saved me a lot of bacon.
Every time I've gone to him for service or guidance (it happens more than I post), I've come away WAY ahead of where I would have been and have found his rates and prices to be on the low side rather than the high side.
He's also been honest in telling me what I do or don't need and flushing silly and wasteful ideas out of my noggin'

I wan't name any names, but early on I talked to other supporting and non supporting vendors about what I should do with my GN and always come away feeling like I'm getting a sales job.

Not with Lou.

So any time I need work done that is over my head, Lou is the man!

Anything he tells me to do to make my GN a strong and reliable street sweeper. I'm all ears.

If I do something stupid and he tells me I'm stupid and to shut up....then I'm shuttin' up stupid.

Besides....for a grouchy old Polock....he's been nothing but a ray of sunshine in my life.

He must know I'm writing about him...he just tried to call me...almost dropped my Blackberry into the toilet.
