well i'm still in process of fixing my 87 limited up. working on the motor now. i think my car looks ****ty because the paint is faded, fillers are primer grey, etc...but i get tired of the offers to buy my car. i come out of a store and have someone leaning on my regal asking if i want to sell it. i just say " do you see a for sale sign on it?" and when they say no i tell them " then get the hell of my car " the way i see it.....Jealousy and Envy eat people from the inside out......

If I saw anyone leaning on my GN they wouldnt even be able to ask if it was for sale before I pushed them off the car and "kindly" explained to them how much disrespect it is for leaning on someone elses car.

well if mine was a GN i would be that way too but its just a limited...but after the motor is in and i have the new paint on then it might as well be a GN to me.....

Turbobuicks are true one of a kind car & I will own another one one day again. For now though, I'm in the process of pre-ordering a brand new 2011 5.0 which I'm crazy excited about.

BUT, I can never get past the feeling that a Turbobuick gives in your body when you press on the gas pedal, and the beautiful lines of this car. It is comfortable, rides like a dream, and can pull like a fighter jet off a catapult.

If people dont like them, and say they think it's ugly or boxy, or call it a Monte, then they dont know what a great car truly is...

When I was in my late teens and early 20's building my 1956 Ford pickup, I heard similiar comments like you hear as well... what are you doing with that piece of junk, you're wasting your money, etc, etc... You should have saw there faces when it rolled out of the paint shop, and I handed them a open copy of the June 1992 issue of Truckin' magazine featuring my pickup... Paybacks are hell... :biggrin: :biggrin:

Anyone talking bad about your Regal doesn't know anything about cars. Take one of them for a ride. I don't know how quick your car is, but there is no way the uninitiated could get their head around what these things can do. I haven't had my GN long, but the few people who have taken a ride have had an eye opening experience.

I just hold it at 3/4 throttle until their body language starts to indicate fear (about 5 secs). Then I back off and they hear that flutter.

I get thumbs up pretty much any time I take it out, and I don't even have bumper fillers in. People are ignorant about turbo Buicks, and they certainly won't understand how uncommon your 83 is. Just remember that they are wrong. They don't even know what what they are criticizing.

When I go to some of the car shows some people will just walk by, thinking it's a Monte Carlo :tongue: and others will say "it's a Buick " and then ask questions... I have a pic of a dealer brochure and across the top a label that says Only 2000 GN's were produced in 1984- that makes some ask questions... Alot of people I run across don't have a clue what GN's are... The people that do know just admire :biggrin: In fact I have met 3 people here locally that have GN's and they just sit in there garages!!

my best kill story was before I had my GN. I got a 75 Plymouth duster for 350. I kid at school with a 72 nova(Dad put $3000 into engine) was giving me crap. So I raced him out in front of the school were every one could see. Will you guys know what happend

Whenever I go to school and park my car, I dont hear the end of it... how that POS running, when are you gonna race me, scrap it, get that sht out of the shop, why dont you sell it, why dont you trade it, and your car runs like sht and burns gas, get a good car. I mostly hear this from young people my age who DONT think the car is worth a dime and that I was a fool for not trading it for a crown vic. I am tired of hearning about it and want to know what should I do.....? It doesnt make me ashamed to drive my car, as it is my DD and I love it. Yes every day something else goes wrong with my car, a little oil is burning, windshield wipers dont turn off, windows wont roll down, tops leak a little, heater core dont work, rear defroster works when it wants to. But I will say older poeople who know what the car is respect it a bit more. I have had random people approach me and make me offers on my car while im driving at a red light, people at the store commenting on it, which help a little bit. But people at school or my friends just hate on it everyday.
