seems like you just had two unlucky isolated incidents. most, if not all vendors on here try to carry everything they sell, which can be a strain at times, but we try our best;)

keep in mind, the manufacture can run out of material too.

Never had a problem with you guys jack and his crew has been great over the years.

Well I would have to say that I agree with the innovation and new tech to keep these cars running. If it weren't for the racers and sellers, these cars would have been forgotten long time ago. Where I live, in Sierra Vista, AZ, you can mention Grand National or T-Type and people look at you stupid. They don't even know what these cars are. Thanks guys for keeping them ALIVE!!!

I am still wondering why this in in tech:confused:

My experience with venders/manufacturers here has been very positive. My most recent purchase was the LED tails from Scot W. He took the time to answer all off my calls ON THE SPOT and has much experience with the product. When I called Spaghetti I got a machine and my email stated 'will get back to you within 24 or 48 hours'. I am not knocking Spaghetti at all. I am sure they are a large company. Scot took the time, his time, to use his first hand experience to help me IMMEDIATELY. I don't think that Spaghetti sells the kit directly, but even if they did, I don't mind at all compensating someone who has a passion, experience and a selfless attitude.

The vender is the middle man and his 'cut/profit' should take care of any follow up questions or concerns. He is limited by the manufacturer though. I know a lot of venders have multiple items so that you could just order your different parts from the same source, instead of calling 5 people for 5 things. But maybe you should do that next time.

I cant speak for all, but the vendors I have bought from here, are distributors for EVERY other Buick vendor on here. G-body carries most of the parts offered from the others. Same as RJC, sells Razors's kit and so on. Its just a way to make sure that each member sees all the parts that are offered to them. I dont look at them as a middleman. Most every vendor on here makes items the others do not. TR sells the nicest throttle body offered...he has them made. GNS offers alot of cool items...he has them made.

If you want each vendor to only carry his items, here is what you will get. This past January I bought a Powerlogger, new injectors, new chip,a wideband and a transducer for my ALKY so I could log it in my laptop. That means I would have had an order from Full Throttle, Turbo Tweek, and Razor. 3 shipping costs!!! Now lets see...ERIC at Turbo Tweek sells every item on his sight and only 1 shipping cost. 1 credit card charge, 1 package to worry about getting lost or damaged.

Thats how I see it.

I've had delivery timing issues with a few purchases over the years, and I've spent time on the phone with vendors who have relayed horror stories about dealing with manufacturers. I wouldn't want to have to endure the BS these guys go through, and they deal with it constantly, not just on my insignificant little order. If a vendor who moves tens of thousands of dollars worth of product for a manufacturer gets BS from that manufacturer, how much farther do you think you'll get? Therefore, I'm content to let the vendors handle it. If not for some of the vendors on here, drop-ship or not, I wouldn't have made a lot of the purchases I have. Thanks guys (and you know who you are!)

Ive had pretty good luck buying stuff but then again im a truck driver so a lot of stuff i dont order...Drove to reds and got a fuel pump, drove to kirbans and bought a few hundred bucks worth of odds and ends..I bought LCA braces, rear sway bar, and motor mounts from H&R parts while i was at the track....I say all that to say all of them had everything in stock when i happened to drop in...Ive ordered from full throttle and even tho they suck at answering the phone (so you know you are ordering the right thing) the orders i placed online were promptly shipped, same with rjc ordered it and not even a week later i had my stuff...

Something else some of you guys fail to realize is some of our vendors bend over backwards for us and it needs to be taken into consideration too...like how many people called comp cams about thier shoddy lifters and didnt get a satisfying response but then Jack Cotton took it in the face by combining multiple sets to make 1 good set and swapping customers lifters out and dealing with comp himself later...Im sure that wasnt very cost effective at the moment....

I'll apologize if i offended any particular vendor on here, i was harsh in jumping on the bandwagon.

I've bought items from many of the vendors names you've mentioned and more that you haven't mentioned and have had no issues.

Most if not all the names you mentioned drop ship but also offer their own custom parts. They are assets to our community. I understand the concept. There are a few though that do not offer anything but others parts. I'm sure those are the ones the OP was referring to.

I know I personally spend 4-5 hours a day with manufacturers & suppliers. We also supply parts we manufacture to other vendors as well. Countless hours are spent with customers.
Our facility is 30,000+ sq ft. The people have been here can vouch for how much we keep in stock.

As far as shipping we ship more people USPS priority every day. If you order a part on most sites it calculates 1 lb minimum thru a fed ex or UPS.

WilliamsGN if your ordered a gasket it from us & it showed $100.00 shipping ground you would only be charged USPS actualy shipping. Either a stamp or a flat rate envelope.

I'm working with a customer now on shipping to HI. He asked Brian shippings shows this much what can we do. We are combining everything we can safely to prevent damage but to get it it out. We also ship to Canada & over seas daily.

There are many resaons items are drop shipped. Your location, Manufacturer is behind, or a large amount of the items is sold in a few days.
Also it does keep prices down. If you have to pay shipping of an item then re-sell you have to take in account the cost it took to get to the vendor first.

Uncle Dave is correct also. If we are spending $50K with a supplier per year & we complain it "normally" motivates them.

Another thing to keep in mind with "Middle Men'' like me selling BAER brakes and DSE suspensions is that these large manufactures do not give many price brakes to one time customers due to the simple fact of cutting the throats of their vendors. another thing is us vendors in order to sell their product that gives us a profit margine is that we have to normally pay a "Buy In" fee. A good example of that is Ridetech, they want a $7,800 buy in before we even get a discount that can be moved onto our customers. We take from our small profit margine to give our customers a discount over these large manufacturing company's... That is why we offer "Free Shipping" on all BAER brake & DSE large orders and that is normally in excess of $100 if we can do more we would.

We will always try to contact the customer if there will be a delay from one of our manufactures or even if it's a product we make we always will send an E-mail or call... I even do this to our other vendors buying from us as well so they can inform Their customers...

So it's NOT alway's cheaper to cut out the middle man in some cases!

Scot W.

There's also instances where drop shipping will save the end user money. We drop ship for our dealers. If we didn't, then freight would have to be charged twice. Once to get to the dealer and then again to get to the customer.
