LS1 into a GN, nothing special other than its a waste of a GN. Why don't these guys build regular Regals or Monte SS's?

I think I'm going to cry :frown: . Maybe the old GN motor will get put in the camero so they will have at least one fun car to drive? At least thats what I'm telling my self so I can sleep tonight.

Yea... that does suck even though i normally condone hybrids... i guess this one just is lame... if your going to deflower a "rare" car, do it with a knockoff like a regal (like me!).

As for the guy using a GN for the suspension... well that seems stupid to me, if that's his real reason. It takes about 4 hours to swap the whole suspension out and is only worth about 1000 bucks.... ??! If your going to rape a rare car, it better be either destined for the junkyard anyway or the engine swap better be something worthy. But who are we... its not our car.

Phil

Now the link loaded, yeah ive seen that moron before on the net, it says he liked his wifes car so thats the engine he used, the turbo must have been too much for him to handle. and that super pricey ls1 swap must have been MUCH cheaper than a 3.8 rebuild with some modding ;)

I think I just threw up in my mouth. :frown: He ought to do a TT set up, that way it will at least be palitable.

This is an updated version of the original elusive V8 GN's.

Just another way to get publicity (look athe credits on page 2), sell some conversion parts, and increase sales of the LS1 to the masses???

I can see maybe MAYBE in a car with no motor anyway...

But what's with "liked the performance of the LS-1 so decided to do away with the six". WTF WTF WTF???

I guess I should have known when he wanted a Grand National for the suspension... HA! Someone didn't know WTF they were talking about.

If it was a turbocharged LS1, I could accept it.

I almost built a Turbo LSX for my T Type.
It would have had an 88MM Thumper and made 1600HP.
I was able to pick up a almost turn key Stage 2 set up so I went with the v6.
This saved me fabrication time and money.

Doing this swap NA is less than desirable.

THAT is funny!

Poor GN. I hope he doesn't modify the exhaust and make it go straight to the back :( There's a lot more, better cars to put LS1's in...like a Fiero for instance...

I just had a moment of clarity: maybe he's doing it because he's sick of dumping cash into a car and wants something more reliable. I guess it still doesnt answer why he had to use an authentic GN to do it but maybe he has sentimental value to the vehicle or something.

This dude should post over here so we can stop guessing & just ask him.

who cares what this guy does, its his car...i to got tired of dumping money in my jaguar that only had 40k on it so i ripped out my 12 cylinder, bolt cutters and all, and put in a radical small block chevy,to make it more reliable(of course those cars are not collectables)so many old farts frown at my jaguar when they hear it,then some are true motor heads and give me a thumbs up...everyone does whatever makes them happy,if it makes you sick and puke, well just dont do it on our cars :) ...my best friend has a old mach 1 and threw in a small block chevy,im sure the ford guys love that?who cares...theres a guy on here with a 68?camaro and a buick turbo 6,im sure the camaro guys say that the car is now worth nothing(who cares)..its his car...maybe the guy that put the ls1 in the gn likes to see the gn guys faces as they frown at it and the ls1 guys give him a thumbs up????then again....WHO CARES

you are talking to Buick enthusiests, Turbo Regal Enthusiest to be specific. We don't like people messing around with putting just another motor in our cars, just like anyother enthusiest. We atleast respect people like Chris Chow who put in SBC's because he does it to go wickedly fast. Honestly maybe an LS1 is more stupid person reliable, but anyone who cares to take care of a car should know how to keep the turbo6 running just aswell as that LS1. True its his cars, now its our turn to offer our opinion on it. Heck I caught a lot of flack for sarcastically saying I'd put an LT1 in a non-turbo Regal Limited. End of the day its just another cool Buick being used by someone for the looks of the car and "coolness" of a newer motor without any other justification for it. Kind of like the guys at the car show that walk up and say, "you need to put a 350, headers, holley and a cam in that thing if you really want it to run"
To quote Car Craft, GM G-bodys ranging from free to 5figures for a Turbo Regal.... Why not just get a Choo Choo SS Monte and do this to it?
Nice Monte dude
