I just had a moment of clarity: maybe he's doing it because he's sick of dumping cash into a car and wants something more reliable.

Dont say that too loud, my daily driver might hear you and finally break down on me for once!!!

If he is tired of dumping money into it, then why would he spend what 8 grand or so for the conversion on a 18 year old car????
Each to his own i guess???

I agree with the masses, he should have put twins on it!

I was catching sh*t from some RX7 owners when I was looking for a "donor car" to drop a non rotary engine into... I guess it doesnt bother me too much as far as the car is concerned but why do a swap like this? Its nothing really special. As for the sbc Chow car, well, technically thats just as much a "sin" as dropping a 2.4L 4 cyliner in it by your guys' view.

I'd rather see "neat" cars than the same old thing, even if it means a few rare cars get repowered... unforturnately in this case, the power-plant isnt that thrilling... :(

I think that they made a really nice job! Although it's not ''original'' anymore, I agree with ''tommynos'' ...it's HIS car, so WHO CARES!!!...If HE likes it like that, well, it's ok with me! :) Even though I have nothing against cars being kept original to give them more ''collectible'' value, I also think that they're meant to be enjoyed, and making the cars the way each of us wants them to be is part of enjoying them! ;)

I agree. My Buick is the most reliable car I've ever owned - and the highest mileage car I've ever owned.
