Could the "non-perfect" thing be the fact that I'm buzzing along at 5100-5600 rpm down the whole track length...with a powerband that is probably best at 4500 +/- rpm?? That has alot to do with it, probably 100 horses lost due to the cam drops horsepower right at 4800 rpm
Stock cam, never even pulled from the block, has only 40k miles with no springs heavier than CC 980's and stock lifters in the same holes. I really doubt that I have a flat lobe. I read your last post, yes easiest way would be to remove drivers side and check #3 and #5 exhaust lobes, normally when they go, there is nothing left and the rocker arms barely move
Agreed I can do better on the 60' and I've added an Eaton posi with Moser axles since the 11.30 because I saw that the drivers side tire quite turning during the burnout. Even so, the 0-60mph on DS was 3.18 sec...not too shabby.
Appreciate all the help and advice...I'm leaning towards a tighter converter. Would like to lock up but don't think a single disc will do it...and don't want the rattle of multi-discs.
Get a good convertor that doesnt lose much power, you can contact Dusty Bradford for a nice non lockup that should put the power down, if your not too worried about MPH, then the real art car 16930 does fairly well too.
