And it seems the rent of these congressmen who are passing laws is being paid by the same religious zealots that Bush is listening too.

http://www.tennessean.com/government/archives/03/04/31786118.shtml

Note that two are Democrats. Blame Bush instead of those that will actually pass the Bill, Bill passes.

Has happened more times than I can count. Stop drinking your Democrat Koolaid and attack those that are doing you a disservice: Your Elected Representatives (most likely Democratic).

This was a pretty good rant

Not very factual, but a good rant none the less;

"Is this the kind of government you want? A governing body who decides what you read, watch, and listen too? A government who makes law and policy regardless of public wishes? A government who is run by a religious body who decides what is right for you?
This government is run by a president who has publicly stated he 'talks to God'. Under Bush, your rights are subject to the scrutiny of him and his decision makers. Is that what you want?"

Who decided what you read, watched and listened to today? I can say pretty easliy that I made my own choices, like the ones right here.

I believe laws are still voted on by both parties and the way it currently sits the Democrats will block anything they really don't want. Since we all voted on these guys to decide for us, what public doesn't have a voice?

What religious body is running our country? Are they Catholic, Luthern, Jews, Muslims, or maybe the Baptists? Since you can find them all working in government, have one of them actually taken over like some inside mob job?

Our President talks to God and that scares you? It is safe to say most of America talks to God at some time. You must be frightened to the core.

You are subject to the government and its decision makers everyday with a Democrat or a Rupublican in the White House. Your day to day life is much more affected by those closer to you in your city, county, and state. Can I paint my house the color of my choice, put in a window, plant a tree, or even park in front of my own house? How many cars will they allow me to have, even if they all are licensed? Can I put a sign in my yard to expess my freedom of speech? Can I even fly a flag in my yard? When the lake freezes, can I bring the boat home? Can I have a pet or how many or what type?

Huh? This is a debate about Ideas not about personal attacks (unless you say something that is just WAYYYY stupid - like Chevy II did :) )

Anybody got anything good to say about John Kerry?

Something he stands for? (and not something he stands for, now)

Something he's done? (and not something he has just SAID he's done)

I have NEVER made this a Dem/Rep. issue, why have you, besides to try and get out from under Bush? I never have stated one thing against the Rep's, Im strictly talking about BUSH. He'll go, the truth will continue to provide the answers, not the rhetoric you and others try to throw out trying to defend their lame duck. Im off to bed, try to get some sleep, if you concience will let you!

There I reposted your link. Please take the time to explain how this is a problem. That link says there are people from both parties and many faiths living and working together. And you find that as something to fear? That freedom of religion thing should work for those we elect too.

And by focusing on Bush, your elected representives can pull the wool over your eyes, pass all kinds of legislation you claim to be against (Because they were Bush's Ideas) and yet, they receive none of your scorn.

It All Bush's fault

In the highly unlikely event Bush loses, then what?

This thread is a John Kerry. See up there, the title ...John Kerry....

We ask for what John Kerry believes in, stands for, would do as President and all we get is Bush Bashing.

So far, we've heard what Chevy II thinks John Kerry would do (too bad John Kerry has never said he'd do any of that) and a lot of Bush Bashing.

Anyone?

I'll Start.

I Know he is against the Death Penalty.

I know he against concealed carry laws.

I know he is for a CAFE of 40 MPG for SUV's and Pickups.

Anyone else know what he stands for?

You don't find it an issue that government officials who make law are living basically free, supported by a religious group. You don't think this has an influence on their decisions? Have you heard of the seperation of religion and state. Your statement itself shows ignorance of this.

Seems to me those guys are pretty smart. If you can pay $600 a month for rent for a room that's close to work and with people that share your interests, that it's better than paying $1200 a month elsewhere.

How exactly does John Kerry afford the rent on the $4 million mansion he lives in up in Georgetown, when he's in Washington?

The guy's NEVER made more than $150K per year.

It's not like he needs a mansion... as if he's EVER in Washington to vote for legislation. He missed 64% of the votes in 2003.

nice

Gees, get your baloney straight. What do they feed you guys out there on the left coast. Bush talks to God? I guess you could say that anyone that prays.......talks to God. I think the problem is, when God talks back. :D Yeah, ABC polls. Talk about a left wing sympathiser. You bring up the patriot act. There hasn't been any abuse of it that has been brought forth. It's needed for the war..........yes war!....... on terror.

And all you have to complain about is that they're gonna' take your porn stars off the TV and radio. Who gives a rat's ass. You have NO issues. You're just a devout lefty. :p

Who would you advise me to vote for.........Kerry? The guy's a TOAD.

Seperation of Church and State

You know, I read and hear that an awful lot, but just where is it written in the Constitution or Bill of Rights? I am just not able to find it. What I DO find is FREEDOM of religion.

Isn't it kind of funny how socialist parties always get that mixed up?

Separation of Church/State - not quite so....

Well, a quick read of the US Consititution indicates:

Amendment I

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances

By my account, it basically says the government can't establish a "state religion" or prevent the free excercise of one's religion of choice. I don't however see anything about an absolute separation of church and state here.

Perhaps some liberals read it differently.... Who's the ignorant one again?

Still nothing about what Kerry thinks or what he will do as President.

Let's see how the list is coming:

#1. Against the Death Penalty.

#2. Anti-gun.

#3. For a CAFE of 40 MPG for SUV's and Pickups (say Good bye to the Lightning)

Lets add:

#4. Against Drilling for Oil in ANWAR

#5. For "Partial Birth Abortions" (but against the death penalty... I guess murderers: OK, Babies: Not OK)

#6. For NAFTA, GATT AND wants to EXPAND trade with China (betcha didn't know that)

Anyone got something else???? Hello, Kerry Supporters???? Hello??? Beuller???

Maybe we should just take it easy on the poor guy. It looks like Senator Kerry needs to get away from us for a bit and get back to those may feel more comfortable around.

http://www.drudgereport.com/kerryid.htm

Here is one to make yoo think. The Democrats rail on about President Bush having made millions on his business deals, but if I have it right The President doesn't have the money to buy just the houses the Kerrys own.

Here's something you might not have heard or want to hear. After that fire in Worcester, Ma that killed 6 firefighters, Senator Kerry quietly went to Worcester while they were still looking for the bodies buried in the rubble. He didn't go with the media for a photo op, he went alone to see what he could do to help the families of the firefighters. The comediean Dennis Leary had a cousin that died in that fire. He has since set a fundraiser charity hockey game that John Kerry and many celeberities attend every year.
http://www.wfd1009.org/index2.htm Here's a link to the firefighter's union that endorses Kerry. You tell them and the families of the firefighters that died Kerry wouldn't make a good President.
Being wealthy doesn't mean you have no compassion.

BTW, I have been to Kennebunkport, ME to see the Bush compound. It's no trailer park. Dispariging remarks about Kerry's wealth go for Bush too.

O.k.

Kerry got his millions by marriage.. Smart man! I dont know enough about him yet to either support or vote against him. What I do know is that G.W. is a danger and a threat to the U.S.
He is supported by the religious right and he is an embarassment to our country, just listen to him speak. I think he just did to many drugs, his brain is fried..Just my opinion. As far as our rights being threatened, any fool can see what is going on. Ashcroft is trying to get medical records of women who have had abortions, the fbi has been given carte blanc to investigate whoever they want. They dont need a warrant to break into your home, all they have to say is that your are a threat to national security. The government is tracking people via the internet without any legitimate reason, oh you could be a terrorist? If you are dark skinned and try to get on an airline, watch out! I could go on and on, WAKE UP PEOPLE, WE ARE BEING RAPED by our government.
Our whole political system is corrupt! We are either Democrats or Republicans and if we choose to be outside those two parties then we are wasting our vote. Its easy to put labels on people we dont agree with. Damn Democrats and Damn Republicans. When the republican party made those so-called promises to the people a few years back, they conveniently didnt pass the two most important ones, term limits and special interest groups. Hmmmmmmmmmmmm, I wonder why? The Democrats are just as guilty. Why is it that when a congressman retires, he gets his full salary for the rest of his life and when we retire? Well we may never get a penny, social security is going bankrupt and the present administration/congress doesnt give a damn. WE ARE BEING PLAYED FOR FOOLS. Divide and Conquer, as long as we are fighting with each other the people in power own/controll us.
Is this the way democracy is suppose to work?

There is a very nice tribute to the fallen firefighters in the memorial section of the Worchester Firefighter's site. I highly recommend viewing it.

I will not ever try to say Senator Kerry has never done a good deed. That would be silly to even suggest.

And our current Senate Majority Leader, an MD, goes quietly to Africa to work with AIDS victims, on his own time and his own cash. There can be good people on this side of the aisle as well.

"BTW, I have been to Kennebunkport, ME to see the Bush compound. It's no trailer park"

But President Bush doesn't own that one.

"The government is tracking people via the internet without any legitimate reason,"

The government developed that capability almost as soon as the internet came on line. And not just the internet, but phone lines carry traffic in the same manner and on many of the same trunk lines as the internet. They have been tracking those too, for over a decade.

Like Georgie isn't a Trust Fund recipient:rolleyes:
