Well I didn't see the U opening, that lower bolt was a real pita... I need to take it back out, since it didn't work. I'm going to get new vacuum hose and replace all the lines, verify the nozzles are clear too. And this time I will test it before installing it  I don't know if the pump is running or not, I did open up the wiper housing and put some fresh white grease in there though.

that lower bolt is tricky, but you can tighten by hand pretty far with a deep well 10mm socket or regular socket with small extension. after that i used the socket ratchet in the gap under the motor. make sure the motor assembly is grounded if you test the pump in the motor assembly before - it won't work without mechanical grounding connection.

The very bottom rubber boot should slide into a U shape opening or at least 2 of mine have & I got the trick from someone else. I'll look at one if I have a spare but the bolts arent that bad with 1/4" sockets.

I should mention the bolt & rubber get installed & then slide motor with U shape opening down onto it. Maybe I wasnt clear about it after re reading my posts.

I've always been too lazy to pull the wiper cover and junk off.
I had to replace my washer pump a last month.

I just pulled the pump "down" out of the housing (noting the orientation of the nipples), disconnected the two hoses.

New motor in position, partially up into the hole, reconnected hoses, finished pushing the motor up into the housing until the connector seated.

I've done it that way for decades.

I got 6' of 5/32 vaccum hose from advanced auto and replaced all the lines today and tested the new pump to the battery, it spun like it's *ss was on fire. But I have a bad connection on the pump, I believe it's something to do with the contacts inside the housing, after twisting the wires on the connection it works fine, a new housing may be the next step if and when it stops working again.
Also discovered that to make the wiindshield wiper's park better, adjust the linkage at the motor.
